Vinyl Overlays on my TL-S
Hey guys I just had my cars lights all covered in tint. (Vinyl Overlays)
I got it from a company called bluebatmobile.net and I'm loving the new look.
It's like Rockblocker I guess, but not 15mm thick! Easier to apply (even though I had my install guy Ryan do it).
Here are some pics of it.
You can also see all the pics of my mod at this link.

I was the first 3G TL they ever did so my car is displayed on the website.
They said that they also have Carbon Fiber patterns that they can do for any part of the car including the interior.
What else should I have them do?
Carbon Fiber A pillers?
Rear Diffuser?
What else do you guys think? I want to try new things on my car!

I already talked to my guy and he is going to switch out my ice blue for yellow as soon as I get back from camping or else the lights would have been switched tomorrow.

I'm having the front end redone this week w/ lighter tint and yellow fogs.
The light output is still fine, but the lighter tint should restore that total brightness

I'm not feeling it. I never understood the justification behind this mod. I think it takes away some of the appeal that the car has and lets not mention the possible decline in visibility. So why would anyone do this? Regardless of my opinions, do whatever pleases you... its just my opinion and it seems that alot of members support your decision on this one. With that said, its still very nice car.

its funny how I spent over $210 to get the Type S tails and yet you decide to tint them and make them appear more discrete... its just differences of opinions.

here's how I applied them. you'll need
(1) water spray bottle + liquid soap if you want
(2) credit card or other card shaped plastic
(3) thin cloth, I used an old ripped up T-shirt
(4) 10 minutes to do both sides.
[1] warm up the fogs either by turning them on for a few minutes or just on a warm day, or with a hair dryer. the first two are fine.
[2] make sure the fog lense is clean and spray it with a fine mist
[3] then peel the overlay from it's backing and spray the stick side with a fine mist. (now if you use a soapy water mix, then it's tough to get that soap out IMO. I just used water alone, but if you're doubting yourself, a small drop of soap will help a lot)
[4] position the top of the vinyl first then squeegee the water out from top to bottom with the credit card wrapped up in the cloth while you apply the vinyl. *remember these are a bit wider so they will extend further behind the fog plastic cover.
[5] that's pretty much it, you can remove and reapply many times to center it, just keep the surfaces wet to help you position. might as well get it right the first and last time.
[6] run your fogs for a while just to try and dry out the water if any is left uner the vinyl, plus to look nicey nice even during the day. I run my lights 24/7 now
if you don't like it......
removal is even easier. just turn on your fogs, warm them up a little and start peeling. if you're trashing them, then just take the credit card and poke the middle and tear off the vinyl.

Its all about personal preference. Life would be boring if everyone's car looked the same .
