Very excited about the new illuminated door sills.

Guys, I'm very excited because Buda installed my illuminated doors sills last night. First, Buda did an OUTSTANDING JOB. He really took his time to insure that everything worked right. He did a very meticulous job, which I greatly appreciated. Second, I purchased the door sills from TLdream-thanks to him as well.

I always get nervous when you're disassembling a car like a Type S, but Buda knew exactly what he was doing and I assisted where ever necessary.

Here are some pictures I took during the install...

We heated up the OEM sills to insure the double sided tape would adhere well on the new sills.

Placement of the front passenger side sill.

Final look-in place and ready to be wired.

Rear sill in place. Buda took special care on the back sills because they needed further bending to match the OEM sills. Don't worry about the "bend" in the first picture, it's just a reflection off the new sill.

I didn't take any shots of Buda being a contortionist as he was under the dash-fishing out wires. But here's the final look.

Now the sills lit up together for the first time (driver's side). I shot this alittle wider to include the red V-LED door light as well.

Passenger side front sill.

I also tried to get a better shot of the red LED underdash footwell lights (in both the front and back) I had installed around Thanksgiving. You can see the 8" LED strip on the passenger side in this shot.

The combination of the underdash footwell lights, the door sills as well as the door lights REALLY look great-especially with all of them in red.

Again, my sincere thanks to Buda for spending 4 hours of his evening to do this mod for me.

wow...looks really nice. Doesn't seem too functional though since it doesn't brighten up the area. Looks nice nonetheless.

Yes I was-Buda did the work and I just helped out where ever he needed assistance or with things that went better with 2 sets of hands. He had me do a lot, so I learned a lot!

It took about 4 hours to install. There is a great DIY on Acurazine that explains the entire process. We started on the passenger side and then went to the drivers side. So it was an involved process.

Nice added touch to compliment the other red LEDs. Please don't overkill with the red, it's enough the way it is or its gonna be a light show.

I'm done with the interior lighting. Many guys put the red LED's in the cabin lights, but I'm not going to do that. With the underdash footwell LED's and the sills, it's just right.

Glad to see you got the pics up of the sills! It's a good thing you didn't get any contortionist pics as nobody needed to see that.

Shouldn't have to worry about the rear sills coming loose at all. I reshaped them properly to fit the OEM curve so all should be good. I haven't had any problems with mine at all.

It seems Buda is quite the community help...

I was talking to him last week sharing advice on motor mount install and UR pulley install, (and water pump for some unbeknownst reason) that he was helping someone out with.

Buda IS the man in Kansas City. Swoosh is coming in from St. Louis this weekend (a 4 hour drive) to get this done with Buda.

Here guys...I took some better pictures when I got home tonight. This will give you a better idea of both the door sills and the underdash LED's.

With the red underdash LED's in the front.

Here's a good shot of the door sills and the LED's in the back seat. The LED's are mounted against the kickboard below the back seat-not underneath the front seat. That way, people won't kick the LED's when the stretch out out their legs.

Finally...a couple of clear, clean shots !!!

Driver's side...

Hey Steven Bell, the door sills look awesome and definitely flows with your theme. (Good find in the BM, huh?)

And with Buda's meticulous job...you're right, the man did a ridiculous job on it ( i've seen his DIY's and you can tell his work is top notch )

Dang, if they only sell these door sills still ...(or do they?)

Rox, I don't think they make them anymore. Super Computers used to carry them. You might PM him to see if he has anything left.

I just had to post after seeing the great pics. I also have a TL-S with the red lights inside. I have the door sills ready to be installed (probably not by me but by a shop). I like the led lights for the back seat and the red light in the doors. Can you tell me what bulbs you are using for the doors and can you also tell me and maybe show me some pics of the rear led strips so I can see where you placed them and how you attached them. Thanks a lot.

TechGeek, first thanks! Second, I'll shoot some pictures of the LED's in the back for you tonight. For the doors, I can't remember what I got, but there is a big thread on Acurazine about V-LEDS. If you search V-LEDS, I'm sure it will come up. Sorry to suggest using the Search Engine, I just can't remember what I put in.

For the rear LED's, I bought 8" strips that were mounted on the kickboard under the back seat. More specifically, where the rear seat bench meets the base that it sits on. They were wired along the rails and up to the fuze box.

By the way, all these Type S mod would look fantastic in your Morroccan Red Pearl TL !!!

Buddy, maybe try a Willing To Buy on the Black Market section of Acurazine and see what happens. That's how I got mine. Plus, maybe PM Super Computers and see what he can do for you.

Is there a way to make a custom sills? If so has anyone done it?

Example: Instead of saying Acura it says FreedomEagle or something like that?
