Since you guys know about the switchbacks...is it just the bulb or does it require a relay/other wiring system to make it work? I really like that they glow light blue and signal amber.

you need a relay or the relay mod soldered in to keep them from hyperblinking, but yes, it's just a bulb you buy. In my case, on ebay for 30 bucks. BUT, only do this if you have clear USR or type s diffusers...the white behind the amber looks green.

Yezzir its illegal....you cannot have BLUE lights outside the car....the only colors allowed are white/amber upfront and red in the rear....

Hey, I'd be willing to pay for two new front markers with a cooler color temp. I just hope he doesn't expect me to buy front AND rear markers if I only need the fronts.

Are you guys ready for a stupid question!?

I really like the engine covers in a carbon fiber finish and after doing a little search I came across this stuff called Hydro-Dipping, it's pretty cool and seems too look like the stuff, but much cheaper obviously. I'm thinking of doing that or (stupid question) would the 3M CF Vinyl wrap hold up to the engine bay temps? I'm guessing no.

You must be stupid because if you weren't, you would know that all of my engine shrouding is hydro-dipped

I asked the same question about the CF vinyl. I'm not real confident that it can hold up to the temps in the engine bay. It reacts to a heat gun pretty quickly so I'm thinking the heat of the engine on a hot summer day would make it react the same way or breakdown the adhesive. Hate to have pieces of CF vinyl floating around in the engine bay. One member on here did it recently, I'd be interested to see how his holds up during the summer.

Vinyl used for hydro-dipping is different than regular vinyl and it's a totally different process. Much more expensive too.

MNTLS08 has the CF-style hydrodipped panels. I saw them in person last year at the National Meet.

Hmm, difference weave style than what I was looking at and his looks like a matte finish. I prefer the gloss. Looks good though.

I would but I'm sure I'd probably have to sell my left nut to afford it. I can't justify spending so much on something that is rarely seen.

yeah i hear ya. i have no idea what he would charge for that...i just know he's done it for various members.

but i'm having him do some work for me in a few weeks...and prices are reasonable for sure. top notch work for sure.

I'd be interested to see the cost difference between the actual CF and the hydrodipped.

Maybe I'll have to ask him...
I just have a lot more plans for this car that take priority over engine covers that I'll rarely see. I commented on that one guy's thread, hopefully he replies. He said his CF wrap was holding up so I might do that.

Is it possible to spray clear coat over the 3M Di-Noc wrap?
