^^^ my current (summer) setup was right around 51 lbs with brand new tires....last i weighed them in, they were around 50lbs and then the scale started playing with me....
but yeah if am at 50lbs/corner and i get some lightweight rims/tires which are 16" i will be at around 28/corner and if i get 17" i will be at 38lbs/corner....
16":
22lbs/corner lost
88lbs all the way around
352 lbs dynamic loss
17":
12lbs/corner lost
48lbs all the way around
292 lbs dynamic loss
so if you see there is quite a difference between 16's and 17's as well....i think if someone had to go 16's and gets a NO lip setup like the XXR's or your wheels, they might not look that bad....
17" with a lip do look like 16's....you catching my drift?

I catch it, rim style has a huge impact on the size (visually). Certain wheels look bigger/smaller because of the design.

LOL
I got mixed results when I Googled it. Some said it's just "tint" and others said it was okay to put "tints".
I've never really thought about it, I usually say, "Your car needs to be tinted" or "you're in a fishbowl, tint the windows already!"

They didn't start making them heavier on purpose, it's just that there was a lot of concern that their old load rating (1200lbs) wasn't sufficient for some cars, so they changed the manufacturing process to get them rated at 1520 lbs. They're now more dense, and subsequently heavier. There was a thread on MB World where a guy weighed his 18x8.5, +48 1200 lb rated F14 and it was somewhere around 17.5 lbs. The newer ones are roughly 2-3 lbs heavier. Personally, I'll take the peace of mind of the higher rating. ~20 lbs is still pretty light, especially when paired with my 21-22 lb Conti DW's.

Yeah me too, better safe than sorry. I just figured when I pulled that from their site that those numbers were still standing, thanks for the update though.

Not to mention, the 1520 rated wheels should be more "bend proof", which is a huge plus. You can only make a flow formed cast wheel just so light before structural integrity starts to suffer. You want ultra light/strong, forged is your only option.

And I couldn't give a flying fuck what you think either. Did you send me money to pay for springs and I turned and bought coils? NO. I bought what I wanted and I'm happy with it. You just pay attention to your own fucking car.

Austin...do what we talked about and people will back off. Even sticky mirror Tyler!
Stop getting so fired up! 1/2 the fun in fucking with you is that we already know how mad you're going to get!
I'm telling you, you're me 15 years ago.

I stick to nothing but fully forged wheels now. I've had cast wheels, and flow formed wheels. I've bent at least one of each, regardless of load rating.
Need proof.

Austin take a deep breath man. No need to get all fired up about shit like this.
Tyler is stating his opinion and he is entitled to it. When opening a thread about your car, you take the risk of having someone voicing their opinion, whether it is positive or negative.
Whether I'm lower or not, you have to be happy with your decision. I think we all know how sexy your car would look if it were a little lower and since you got coils, you have that option

+1 on lowering it more, but if you're happy with it than whatever!
I got the same coilovers and will be installing them tomorrow;
Just quick question since theres so many pages of thread here to look through, but how do you like them now that you've had them for a while? What did you set your dampers to and how does it ride?

I set mine to the recommended damping up front, which is 8 clicks from full stiff, the rears are 10 clicks from full stiff. I like it a lot, it's a no drama setup, no floaty feeling and it's not back breaking. It's just personal preference.
