I was thinking about that one. Found a few DC sports CAI's on ebay for half the price, brand new too. Shoot, they are all metal tubes with filters.

I'll also be hardwiring my V1 soon, as well as the hidden display... pics will follow when I'm done.

Ah I get it now, shoulda figured that out from what you posted the first time

Thanks for the info though.

There are a few threads in the 3g Garage about AEM V2 vs other CAIs, thats the only reason I decided to go with it. It didn't quite fit in the hole by the fender either. Had to do a lil banging to get it to go through.

I picked up this detector a few weeks ago: http://www.radarbusters.com/radar-de...m#ReviewHeader

Has already saved me a few times
I wanted to be able to move it from car to car, otherwise I think I woulda gone the hardwired V1 route.

I'll check the thread on the CAI.

Yeah I have had the V1 hardwired in my s2k, the TSX and wanna do it it in the TL now. Stupid me though LEFT the hardwire kit wired up in the TSX when I traded it in, so I'm just waiting on the new one to get here.

Relocated my License Plate: ziptied the oem license plate holder from the Acura dealer and installed the Carbon Fiber Decal...
Take a look:

Glad you did the carbon fiber logo, cause I wanted to see how it would look on KBP! Think ima stick with the chrome look.

I wish they would just allow front plates to be off cars cause they all look horrible, but I like where you put yours

Need to get the caps that fill in the holes however

I dont like where you put yours. it looks whack when its offset.

Car designers go through a lot of trouble to make sure everything is in symmetry.
when its offset like that, it throws the whole front end off. even more so than if you just ran the plate in the middle. just my ua6

That's actually incorrect. There are many examples of offset items in car design, especially the plates.
I have been in the design field for about a decade (originating in transportation design) and symmetry
can be a double edged sword. I offset my plates because the TL is so pointy with lots of front overhang.
A center mounted plate accentuates that (or lack thereof) design feature.

For example, Audi's are the same, but because they are so rounded you don't notice the massive
overhang on a lot of their cars. Large front overhang is very typical of FWD and AWD cars.

Offset license plates can look good on certain cars/bumpers. But I think the 3rd gen TL's are doomed to look stupid unless you're rocking no plate up front.

However, to each his own and as long as you're happy that's all that matters

thank you for your insight.
I still think the offset plate looks out of place. it should be in the middle or noplate.

I would go with no plate, but I have been busted soooo many times with that ticket.
Especially out here in what seems like Nazi occupied Napa, CA.

No plate is the best, if you can get away with it.

I have been pulled over for no plate 2 times in 5 years (with no ticket), and that was on my CL. Never have been pulled over for no plate on the TL. Knock on wood

Just varies state to state (even county to county) how strict they are about it.

I think we all agree that front plates look whack in general...nothing ruins the lines of a car like a front plate. This is why I have never bothered to move mine.I'm stuck with my front plate, and that's just something I have to live with - like F*%#ING snow!!

In any case, I just finished wrapping my front grille in black vinyl, and I have to say I LOVE the result!! What do you guys think?
