Clean whip and clean mods.

Are those 5k LEDs? If so, which one did you go with as they look pure white, which looks awesome.

Thanks and you're right on the money, 5K.

With LEDs and HIDs, I definitely prefer pure white and try to avoid any blue at all without going to the yellow region of course.
I ended up buying cluster LEDs for my other car twice because they were too blue the first time and even the second set still wasn't white enough. Expensive experimentation.

Thanks again.

I still find myself searching for TLs with the same combo even though I already have the car lol. Maybe just to assure myself I made the right choice.

It's an old Sony Cybershot that really needs updating. I try my best to do what I can with it but hopefully will be upgrading to a SLR soon.

Glad you like the pics though

I found two others in addition to this one but they either in hawaii across an ocean or in canada across an international border.

needless to say this was my best option lol

And I'll definitely keep you in mind when the time comes. I already got someone eyeing my type-s wheels too lol.

Speaking of MT...small update

I couldn't resist getting a new shift knob.
I was actually suprised how much I liked the oem leather wrapped type-s knob for the week I had it when I was expecting to hate it. However I still felt the need to upgrade to something else.

I looked at MANY options since I'm picky and OCD but I ended up finding a deal on an OEM Titanium S2000 shift knob locally and decided to go with that...for now.

I really liked the heavy weight of titanium compared to all the aluminum and/or leather knobs I've had in the past. Definitely improved shifting for me and made 3rd gear grinding/pop out less of an issue for the time being (working on fixing that permanently later today but that will be a separate post)

I was surprised how well it went with the interior and thought it matched/fit in perfectly with the trim pieces, radio controls, and even the shift boot collar.

Only complaint is it's cold in the morning (and imagine it will do the opposite in the summer when the hot weather comes) but of course that's to be expected.

Even though I'm perfectly satisfied with this knob I still have a few others in mind I'd like to buy and try out, as well as the ones I already have in my collection at home. But since this is my daily I can switch them up on a regular basis and enjoy them all

Here you go

http://www.flickr.com/photos/mugen-k

very outdated though, from '09
haven't "released" updated/recent ones yet

also finally got a chance to do some much needed maintenance last night:

I've been way to spoiled over the years to have access to a shop with a lift and a tool box full of every snap-on tool you could want. Now I have to get buy everything of my own (jack, stands, tools, oil catch, etc) which was a pain...but overall after all said and done kind of satisfying.

Anyway the GM Synchromesh Friction modified definitely did exactly what everyone's been claiming and fixed the infamous 3rd gear grind/pop out I've heard about and dealt with first hand. It was driving me crazy being afraid to shift into gears whether or not I'd be able to find it or not. Now after the fluid change it feels brand new and super smooth. Night and day difference.

Synthetic oil change feels great too and finally got to really "get on it" since I wasn't afraid. Fairly impressed for what a 4dr sedan can do

Beautiful ride...of course I'm biased.

I've got to know more about the Dice Mediabridge, because I've been looking at doing something like this for a while. I only skimmed the description of this thing, but it looks like it's just an audio interface, correct? You still need Dom's nav2go to tap into the TL's nav screen feed, and then the Mediabridge handles all the audio feeds from your iPhone or auxiliary device..?

yup that's precisely it.

When I was in the market I was looking at iSimple and Grom audio but ended up going with DICE because it seemed like the best fit for my needs. I'd recommend it and after I went to their site and watched their video I was convinced. Their customer service is pretty good even though I answered most of my questions searching from threads on here.

Nice car and combination WDP/Ebony 6MT (I'm biased)
I like what you have done with the car so far as well.

Your recent post reminded me that I should flush out the coolant as well.

The GM Syncromesh w/ FM fixed my 3rd gear issues as well.
Car feels much more smooth during shifting as well.

I'm not sure if you like them or not but I would recommend a LED DRL and Switchbacks LED's for the turn signals.
The difference in output is negligible but they look much better.

Thanks for the info. I assume the installation is pretty similar to the iSimple or the PIE X3?

Yes it feels like driving a different car with the synchromesh. I was frustrated it took me so long to finally do it (waiting on equipment) but I was happy I got to experience the problem enough before hand in order to appreciate the difference afterwards.

Funny you mention that because recently the stock yellow/brownish color of the DRLs is beginning to get to me so I started looking options to replace/upgrade them. I did look into LEDs and even though there are plug and play options to avoid the DRL light coming on I think I may just go with upgraded bulbs in a more white color.

Switchbacks may come later. I've heard good and bad things about the aftermarket USR side markers?

Yup no problem.

Yes it's exactly the same and very straightforward.

Basically all you do is use the provided harness to tap in or "piggyback" the xm/cdc connector on the back of the radio. The other end of the harness connects to the Medabridge unit and that can be mounted where you please. Then depending on what media input you have you (ipod, usb flahs or hd, aux or sirius radio) you connect the necessary cables to the unit and run them as you please.

The time consuming part is removing the interior trim pieces to get to the back of the radio while the actual install of the unit only takes seconds. For me it took even longer since it I had just got the car that day and wanted to be extra careful taking it apart the first time. I just followed the DIYs on this site and everything went fine for the most part.

If you do end up getting the mediabridge and have any questions with the install or operation feel free to ask

I tried upgrading to "more whiter" bulbs before but it doesnt work as well due to DRL's being under powered.
Hence the addition of the relay to provide that constant power to them.

I used the iJDMToy DRL kit on my previous TL due to lack of VLED stock at the time.
My only gripe with it was that it was 6000K vs 5000k which I prefer.
It did not remove the Check DRL light but I didnt really care too much about that.

The light output in my eyes was better than the halogens for sure.
Not to mention that it looked 100 X better than that crappy halogen yellow.

Going to be picking up VLED's DRL Kit + Switchbacks soon so I'll be sure to post results.

oh that's right. I remember reading about that and it all makes sense now. It was two separate issues: 1. being underpowered and not full 12V and 2. needing load resistors to get rid of the check DRL light on the cluster. iJDMtoy fixed 1. but not 2. and V-LED kit fixes both.

thanks for clearing that up and reminding me. saved me from making a disappointing purchase

I also prefer 5k, if not lower, to get that pure white color and stay away from any blue tint/hue at all. V-LEDs were my choice if I were to go LED so I think I'll be going with those too (hopefully they will be in stock when I do).

Looking forward to seeing how the switch backs look. Slightly worried about getting unwanted attention from the authorities though if I get those as well...

also a quick update...
look what waiting for me at my front door today

thanks, your TL is quite inspirational too and recall reading your feature article

ya '09 was my first year there and made the 2400 mi one trip all the way from NH to TN. It was miserable but in the end worth it.
I remember seeing you and your brother with the spoon s2000 there (another amazing car as well). I think you were able to take a lap around the track the second day right? I was low on gas the first day but managed to get a second chance on sunday after the meet. It was exhilarating even thought it was risky to beat on the car so far away from home, but then again it's a Honda right so it's gotta be pretty reliable right?

Also have another part I picked up last night to install depending on weather/temperature and another I'm waiting on FedEx to deliver that is scheduled to arrive today but still says it's still in Cali which is no where near me.
