Long story short, I hydroplaned and hit the guardrail.
On the bright side, the tow truck guy said this is one of the cleanest cars he has seen and admired. Cheered me up a bit.

^ Heard it feels like being smacked in the face with a sledgehammer.
OP damn, that sucks. Are you going through insurance? Looks fixable to me. Good luck, man
EDIT: Did you have a passenger?

Sure thing
I lol'd when I read this. The airbag didn't feel that bad at all actually. I guess it was because of the adrenaline rush. Everything happened so fast I really didn't get a grasp of what happened during the collision.
SSR Viennas, but close enough haha. I went outside and was like "Well, at least the wheels are fine "

thank you
Yea I'm fine. My right hand hit something but it's fine. Not in a lot of pain at all if any. Shoulders are slightly sore, but I'm fine.

Ouch sorry to see
I believe the 2004 TL doesn't have the passenger seat sensor, but the 2005+ TLs do. That's why the 04 doesn't have the "Passenger Airbag Off" light above the hazard light button on the dash

Terribly sorry to see what happened. That's weird damage...just tore the front and rear bumpers off with relatively minimal body damage.
Word. But its weird because the "Passenger Airbag is Off" light never comes on in my car, even when there's not a passenger. I read somewhere on here that there's a certain weight zone that it will turn the airbag off in, in the case that a small child was sitting in the front seat. I think the airbag turns off when the seat senses a weight of 20-100 pounds in it.

It sure did. Glad I got away with just a very minor pain in my hand. And a slight pressure on my face that went away minutes after from the air bag deploying.

sorry to see the damage, surprised no one has blamed it on the stretched tires :P

My dad and his buds are going to fix it where he works at. He told me it's going to take a month or two to fix and about 6 grand.
I miss my car. I'm driving my uncle's aviator and it's using up so much gas even when I'm driving like a granny. Not used to being a foot off the ground compared to a couple of inches, but at least I have something temporary to get me around.
Oh btw, my friend told me that because I have a wider tire in the rear, i'm more prone to hydroplaning than to a narrower tire. Which I guess does makes sense due to wider contact patch, but wouldn't the tread pattern eliminate this issue regardless?

A month or two?!?!?! Wow they must just be working on it an hour here and there! Thats a week to two max!
Sorry to see this but i was equily excited to see your wheels made it through with no damage haha. Type S conversion!!!
Dont forget to replace the airbag ECM, Front impact sensors, cock spring, and if they went off your seat belts. I have seen alot of people that think all you need to do is just replace the bags themselves!
