It wasn't a timed event, more of a free for all...
The TL isn't bad, but it's a bit understeer happy...I'm still on my stock tires which is one of the reasons but I'll be upgrading them once I feel more comfortable with my limits. But yeah, it really depends on the driver of the car...because at certain parts that skyline was pretty slow (it was said that he wasn't trying to push it)

Some driving remarks about the TL:
Pros:
-Good acceleration. During most of the track, the low's dip down to 20mph, where you can go over an excess of 100+ in other sections of the track, depending on your cars capabilities. The TL was able to keep up quiet well in those areas as this favored the cars powerband.
-Brakes. Racing Brake 2-Piece rotors, Hawk HPS Pads, Motul RBF600r fluid kept the brakes steady, and not once did they fade, or lose power.
Cons:
-UNDERSTEER. Oh my...I don't even know where to start. Although I ran on stock dunlop direzza tires, the TL had massive understeer, VSA on and off. Shifting the weight to the front (excessively) was needed in almost every turn. Getting the rear to slide out wasn't easy, but would have been very helpful as a lot of turns required the TL to slow down a lot.
(Adjusting tire pressures did reduce understeer a good amount. I found 42 front, and 35 rear to be the best so far..)
-Seats. Although the stock seats are very comfortable, I believe the extra bolsters of the Type-s seats would have helped tremendously in the turns from being thrown around and all bruised up!
-Suspension. Tein Basics are an good all around coilover setup, but I wish I went with the SS...I would have benefited a lot from a bit stiffer shocks up front.
For the next event, in hopes of understeer reduction, I'm going to try a bigger sway in the rear, 255's up front, and a few weight reductions up front.

Three Wheelin'
aznbo187, i beleive 42psi in the front tires isn't great for cornering (on FWD). The pressure is too high causing the tires to form a "U" shaped contact patch. This is not good, because you have much less support from the sidewalls while cornering. If you step on the gas while front tires have psi too high, inside wheel is very likely to spin.
I think a much better pressure setup would be 35psi all around, or even have 37psi in the rear. This way the rears aren't slowing you down when turning, you might even feel it slide a little bit this way.
In FWD the rear wheels are just rolling along and provide no traction. So you almost need to rely purely on the suspension for rear support (higher spring rate/thick sway or strut bar). In RWD it's kinda backwards, the front psi is ok if it's a little higher. And rear psi should be ok a little lower. On FWD you usually want the rear of the car stiff as hell, and the front softer. Reducing weight in the front is also a good way to get that 50/50 weight balance feel.
Check it out on tirerack. Test this out and see how you like the way it handles. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. The good thing about private track events is that you can run whenever you want to, so it's much easier to adjust, and test new settings.

I did sell the netz, and I'll probably be going with some 18's next. Driving your car bring me much more joy than having it look pretty, sorry. (except the quads!)
But yeah, I did read that you changed your muffler, hopefully I can check it out in person one day seeing that your in CA.

Wow, an authentic S15! Rare, indeed. Nice pics, what do you shoot with again?

To find out the tire pressure you need- which may change with the days as your skills improve and speeds come up:
Make a line on the tire from the tread edge towards the center with white shoe polish or tire paint. How much the tire rolls over and rubs off the paint will tell you whats happening
Any of the nstructors can help you with set-up numbers
