TL-S conversion people!

i need a picture of the tl-s tail lights and the tl-s rear bumper sitting flush next to each other. the stealership put one on my car and the tail light are flush but the bumper is indented a good half inch into the car. they say its because the years are different but i know better. can any of yall shoot me a pic of the tail/bumper from a few angles so i can show them?

Can you take a pic of your car and post it up?
it might be a little easier for us to diagnose whats wrong with the bumper.

there are several plastic clips that hold the rear bumper in place. it could easily be that one of those clips is not fastened in right, or at all.

its possible that the clip(s) in question are pushed inside (to the right of where it should be clipped into)

yanno what i mean?

another thing to consider is whether or not your TL was involved in a prior rear accident, it can cause things to shift and not get aligned properly upon a new body panel install. why'd they put a new bumper on?

yessir, 65' mustang. check out my progress thread in the photos section, first page of the thread.

Strange. Did you get the tails from the dealer or from ebay or something?

what I'm saying is.....google the rear end of a TL-S.
Print it out, and give it to them.
the shop wont know if its a conversion or not.

If its not the clips, then like sharksbreath mentioned something is still bent.

And you better not leave without getting this issue straightened

He needs a picture of a 04-06 base WITH a conversion to prove his point to the dealer!!! Ether way its a fuck up! Check the ligts, do they say DEPO on them or anything but acura? also i would ask for the invoice for the rear cover to prove its oem. Just because your at a dealer does not mean they only use OEM parts!

Is the other side like that also? If that thats a slap in the face to the dealer telling them they are wrong! The bumper the quarter gap is crap too...

I don't think that's normal. You said your car was in an accident. My car was rear ended and I have the same problem. Not quiet indented like yours but I can tell the difference. That's nothing to do with type-s/base bumper difference.

yes ive been to that thread, a thousand times. they all either have the type-s aspec clipped on or the picture does no justice for my cause. for all you guys that have checked this thread, ask ANYONE yall know who has done a converson and beg them to take a picture like the above ones. i PMed draztic but he never replied. hes the only one i know who has done the type-s full bumper exchange.
a simple backside shot wont win over the dealership

If i were you i would just take it back in there and tell them to fix it. you are a customer and "your always right". Thats all that matters. and like i said ask for invoices! The excuse of being rear ended should not hold water, they are suppose to put you back in pre loss condition.

exactly.

OP, i wouldn't have even taken the car back in my possesion if i were you. i would have took one look at it and realized that something was wrong. then i would've told them on the spot w/out leaving the parking lot that it's not right.

just take it back to the dealership, it's obviously not suppposed to look like that and they need to fix it.

you brought the car to them to get it fixed after you were rear ended. well, they didn't fix it, and they need to. you don't need any proof of how it "should" look. it should look flush! it doesn't! end of discussion. a type-s bumper n a base bumper are the same exact thing except the type-s has quad tip openings...that's it.

also find out if they farmed out your car to another body shop, a lot of dealers do that.

omg. why cant you show them a picture of a non conversion type s and call it a conversion type-s.
they would never know the difference.

DONE and DONE.
simple.
finished.
cake.

Here i found a conversion type-s for you.

I even went as far as putting the type-s badge on and the quad exhaust.
and the bumper sits FLUSH with the lights.

PUT THAT INTO YOUR PIPE AND SMOKE IT.

i wish customers could fire people. cuz 4 people would not have jobs right now if it was up to me.
