Guys,
A Comptech rear sway bar would really help this car. Take a good look at the inside rear tire. There's only about an inch of contact left with the pavement. Man, I would definitely love to autoX my TL. Was this a 5AT or 6MT? Thanks.

Sway bar would really do the trick...
Ive been talking to a dealer that will install it for 200 labor plus parts...is it worth it? I would expect the dealer to do it correctly, and fix it if there was a problem

Well, thanks everyone for your comments. SSM rule.
My car is a totally stock 6 speed. I am considering suspension upgrades, but a stiffer sway bar is not my first option. Althoug it will help, our cars need a lower stance, more shock/spring resistance, and less shock travel.
The fallen cones in the picture are "pointer cones". I did not hit any cones in that run. I did ate 2 in my 4th run.
The autocross course is located in the Rosecroft Raceway parking lot in Maryland (exit 4A of I-495 - Capital Beltway). Here is a link - http://www.rosecroft.com/DIRECTIONS.HTM It is just 25 minutes from Fairfax or Woodbridge.
Actually, the last autocross of the season will be held there Saturday, October 24 2004. It is sponsored by the Northern VA Corvette Club. They are a great group of people and I will be there helping them and running.
Why don't we set up a meet somewhere in Springfield and drive down there as a group? I'll volunteer to set it up.

Hey nice going! I looked up your times. I was interested in what class you were running in. I have an 04 TL 6MT SSM for a daily driver and a 90 Civic SI that I run in STS which I have been autocrossing all over the place this year (various national events). So to see you sitting just outside of 1st place for the STS times shows you have some talent, I also saw you are a novice... even better. Don't even tell me you were on the stock EL42s . Anyway, I plan to take the TL out to a couple local events to feel the car out a bit before I make any mods to it. Anyway, I will keep an eye out for the results of your next event. Good Luck on the 24th!

WHY would you take a FOUR DOOR sedan to the autocross???
After all, that is why there is a s2000, civic, Z, G-35, ets....
Sooooo,
THAT is why I say:
Why in the he-- would you take your $30K+ beautiful sedan racing???
Get it?
(IMO, of course!)

What does four doors have to do with racing? Ever heard of a WRX STI, BMW M5, Mitsu EVO, Audi S4.... etc. etc. etc. etc. Have you ever watched Speed Vision WC, Nascar? Do you know that the basis of Solo2 racing (autocross) with the SCCA is to get people (who don't have a huge racing budget) out to have fun with their cars on the occasional Sunday (even trucks in some cases, I have seen a guy in an old beat up Ford Ranger beat people driving civics to vettes).
Four doors just means more friends can come along for the ride.
So why don't you go out and put another coat of wax on your car (don't forget the Tire Shine), and keep in the slow lane.
I'll be sure to post some in car footage when my TL hits the South Course at Pocono next summer.

OHHHHH, I'll be sure to check the listings and tape it!!!!!! (After, of course, my car is waxed)
LMAO;
So, will you be passing the M5's, Audi S4's, and, oh, what the hell, maybe a C-6 Vette???
Have a blast, dude....

I missed these pix the first time around, they are great and you get points for them. That looks like fun!! I wish there were some autocrossing in my area.....
You REALLY need the A-Spec suspension or another set of lowering springs to help you out there. I also agree that you could use the Comptech rear sway bar.

2. This is the car I have. Nobody pick the S2k from my autoX registry last year. I got friends that race more expensive cars.
3. Safer and cheaper that taking the car to real tracks like Summit Point (did that in August - I'll post pics later) and VIR (I'll be there in November - )
4. I don't bougth my car to it.
Anyway, I am still accepting donations for a dedicated race car, you know.
