Autocrossing

Has anyone here set up a TSX for autocrossing? I am thinking about setting mine up to run H-stock. I was thinking Konis, Kumho V710s (225s or 245s), bushings and end links on the front bar. Does anyone know what the maximum negative camber possible on the fron is? It looks like the stock alignment is 0 camber up front and 1 - 1.5 negative in the rear.

I autocrossed my TSX for the first time about a month ago. It understeered a lot and would spin the inside front tire coming out of every corner. I know that my street tires (Kumho SPT) are not good for autocrossing. Race tires should eliminate most or all of the wheel spin on corner exit. I don't think that the TSX has the torque to spin race tires. The konis and alignment should help dial out some of the understeer. I had a Ford Contour SVT that was set up for autocross with konis and race tires and it could not spin the race tires coming out of corners (it would smoke street tires) and had virtually no understeer.

I have been autocrossing for a decade and I know that the nut behind the wheel can use some work but, I want to get the car ready first.

Minis seem to be THE car to have in H-Stock. More power to you! Go for it!

As far as how much max neg. camber you can run, I'm unsure, but as far as the tires go, you'll probably still be able to spin the inside tire as I was able to on Hoosiers in my RSX.

I've spun the inside on the TSX auto-x'ing with different tires. But I didn't have nearly enough runs/seat time to make that a completely accurate statement. I had two different sets of tires (not the ones you are looking at) other than the stock, totaled about 8 runs on 2 different tracks. Wish I could be more help. Good luck to you!

I autocrossed my TSX again. This was on a more wide open faster course. I spent about 15 seconds in 3rd gear. The wheelspin was much less of an issue at higher speeds. It still spun the inside tire in the low speed corners. I think that the springs are just to soft for autocrossing. I think the car will probably be more fun running ST where I can change springs, shocks and added a thicker rear bar. Of course, if I can find a cheap Miata then I won't have to abuse my TSX...

I just signed up for my first autocross race. I will be racing this Sunday down in Phoenix. Any driving tips? Or tips in general?
