Tales of The Darkside...(56K Beware!)

Greetings fellow AZ members!! I just wanted to take the time to properly introduce myself to the group! I know what you are thinking, "Uhhh Dark...maybe it's us, but with 1500+ posts - we know who the hell you are already! Thank you for saying that, and kindly shut up, for I am not talking to you! Hahahahahaha!

No seriously, I never got a chance to really say "Hi", so I'm doing it now. I am happy to be a member here, and I enjoy giving and receiving information with the knowledgeable, fun members onboard! So...HELLO! Since I finally got enough mods done on my car, I decided to allow Stella to join me! Stella is the only female I've ever had to spend plenty of cash on! For those that haven't guessed, I picked the name Stella, not just because she's "stellar", but because she's my streetcar I desired...my 06 6MT TL!!!!

So without further ado, I'd like to properly introduce "Stella" to you:

Life thru Stella's eyes...

Stealth mode...

Representing MD from the Darkside!!!

Well, thanks for hanging out with me and Stella! We look forward to seeing you again! But until then...

(It ain't easy!)

Lookin' great! Those rims are shiny, shiny, shiny! Are those the rims you're going to keep permanently or are you gonna get something else anytims soon? I thought I remember you saying you're looking to go to 19s soon.

Thanks guys! Yeah, I do expect to mod again in the near future. Here are some:

Drop - ? Don't know if I want to because I like ride quality. But if I do, Tein SS w/edfc
Rims - Thinking Maya RT5s, but I am also thinking why am I thinking that (expensive)! LOL!
Aluminum Shift Bushings (the ones under the hood)

That's really about it. I may tweak the stereo. To me it could be louder, tho not the loud where you hear me before you see me!

No Brett, you are right. I will at least hang on to these for the winter if I get new rims. Rims are definitely not happening soon! I still have the OEMs in storage, brand spanking new! I was thinking of painting those black for a change-up. What do you guys think?

Stella got her groove back

Like the others have said, the only thing that I am crazy on your car is the rims, besides that, love the car.

Love the grills.

Everyone say's 56K beware... Does anyone in the United States or Canada even still have 56K? I just don't see how it's possible. Fuck it... I'm going back to 14.4K.

Hahahahaha! You didn't even say "hi" Dork!

Ethan, you know when you run for office in politics, you have to try to post your picture in everyone's yard!

Besides, believe it or not, this is my first thread highlighting pictures of my ride since I bought it and joined AZ, lo those many moons ago! I'm actually behind - go figure! Posting/whoring in other threads is small time!

I'll never catch up to the rest of the NBP gang, but I'll enjoy trying! Besides, the "Gods" don't vote NBP...we're the thriller ya love to hate!

LOL! I wonder if people think I should change my rims?...Nah!

Until I can afford my rims I really want, maybe I can get some A-spec rims to go on there in the meantime! Pretty cheap at $1875, and I get a 10% discount on top of that!

Hmm...what looks best with black (yes I will check out pics, but just asking):

Sparkle, GunMetal or Chrome?????

You totally read my mind on this! I was like introduction what are you talking about?

Seriously though, loving the ride and am jealous that you got your grill mod done and I am still being a guinea pig for new ideas. Atleast Steve got the benefit from my efforts so far. I should have to Travel to Reston in June here. If I do I'll have to let you know. I'd love to see the ride in person.

I was wrong on that quote, the chrome are $550 each, sparkle is $420 - but that is my dealer. I am sure that Acuraoemparts.com is cheaper than that as well. To be honest, the money part isn't the biggest deciding factor. It's the fact that they are only 18s. I don't want to spend that kind of money on 18s!

Regardless, It's a one sweeeeeeeeet look'n car. r u ever gonna get the steering wheel? I'm in the process of fitting the 07 head unit into our car. Just need to find a way to do some wire matching to fit 2 plugs in order for it to work. did u know anyone who have done this mod? Again, your car looks awesome.

Thanks man! Where you been hiding? Wow, I forgot about the steering wheel mod! Yeah, I still want to do it, but I don't know when. I really think I should focus on getting that clearbra instead for now! I found a rock chip on the a-spec lip today. ((((AAAARRRGGGHHHH)))) Small, but I saw it dammit!

I feel your pain brotha... Do you know if they make one for our car with A-Spec body kit on? Remember, after you get the steering wheel, do the swap yourself. It's super easy.

I've been busy with school and work. On top of that, I'm looking for resources on installing 07 type-S head unit into our car. I got a unit from some unfortunate Type-S (I don't know how the red lid background head unit gonna look in our car). Right now, I'm looking at the schematic pin chart I got from my dealership and trying to match the wires. The differences are only 2 plugs between the display unit and the head unit. Check out my link: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=159629

I just remembered that acuraoemparts.com has stuff for less, and I can get some chrome a-spec wheels for $1680! Plus I get a 10% discount, so I may save even more! I saw the A-spec rims on Anansi's and PPLAPW's ride (look good) and I think I can go that route and get the best performance-saving set-up that way!

I agree with that, but the gunmetals are not offered anymore. I would have to find a set in ebay or black market!

I am thinking of going black with a machined/polished lip now anyway (barring a steal of a deal). Thanks Rocky!

Yeah I didn't notice but gunmetals are much darker than the other recent versions of the A-spec, I only noticed after actually comparing. I'm glad I have the 2004 version.

I originally planned some thick meaty 19s with a lip but good thing I didn't spend the money!! I bought my A-specs on Ebay for $1300 and good thing they were used and cheap because my wife has curbed them 15 times in like 6 months LOL! Hopefully if you go for big buck rims you are the primary driver and whoever else drives your baby will treat it the way you do! Only go A-spec if you do 18s because few wheels look so at home on the car. But cost-no-object, looks-wise 19s are the way to go!!

Ha! I feel that. I drive mine 99% of the time. The 1% that my wife drives it, I can't stop thinking about what she's doing to it. I've got her pretty well trained, though: end spots, no curbing, take off the engagement ring so she doesn't scratch the headliner or leather...

you know, the basic TL Nazi stuff that you'd expect!
