Thanks Gome - it was really nice here today (like 60/65) so I spent about 4 hours cleaning, polishing and waxing the hell out of it. I can't wait till spring !

Guys I did my first real mods today. Installed my TL-S Side Markers (Rear), TL-S Tail lights and my TL-S Spolier......Man o man it was a busy hectic day but I had fun and I am totally thrilled by the way it changed the rear end.

I also popped in some PIAA lHyper whites for the plate and backup lights. Let me know what you think - I had a blast today and as so thrilled I found this forum.

Yeah I love them - really toned down the bright red of the stocks. These are smoked looking and I love the black chrome behind the lens.....

Love the lip spoiler!!!! Did you bolt it on or just use double-sided stick tape?

Thanks guys - Used a bit of both. I used the two mounting screws that came with the lip and added some extra 3M heavy duty tape in a couple of spots just for added grip. Probably didn't need any at all........measured this like 6 times, kept double checking my template, drilled two small pilot holes for fit and gradually made them bigger.

Was much easier than I thought - just be patient, be prepared and above all take your time.

Don't know what a step bit is so I guess not....... started with a small bit then went up once I knew the holes were going to work - cleaned it up with a small round file

Those tail lights look great on that color car. Nice work. Love it.

Got my smoked rear markers in yesterday myself. Super easy install.

Ever thought about doing the front side marker mod with white LEDs? That would look hot on your (and any) TL.

Yeah those are a piece of cake to install - less than 1 second each....lol I thought about the fronts but I have no clue when it comes to working with LED's redo's and soldering and all that.

A step bit is basically a bunch of sizes of drill bits all in one. They tend to work really well for drilling holes in metal, but have never tried it on a painted surface.

Yeah, I can see what you mean. I took electronics class in high school and have been working on stuff of this nature for a while, so it's not much of an issue for me. To be honest, though, it's pretty easy stuff to pick up on the fly, and you seem like a pretty smart guy.

If you're really worried about it, just buy an extra pair of fronts and modify those ones. That way, if they don't work out, you can still have your originals. That's what I have done. Worst case, you can't get them to work, then you can mail them to me and I'll do them for you! :-)

Ah I see ......... I actually used a titanium bit - I had bought a set to install my race pedals.... I also used some of that blue painters tape to completely cover the area on my trunk where the spoiler was going. It worked great for protecting the trunk while I drilled.

It was scary drilling but I checked my measurements like 100 times and in doing so I was sure to be 100% with the holes

Don't they legally have to be amber & red?????

I could probably figure it out for sure - maybe if and when I ever clear the headlights I'd consider the sides too but for now the amber front turn signal matches the side.

My next "mod" is to add the 07 grill to my 06 and add the 07 fog lights. A couple guys here did it already and it came out cool.

Figured I'd do that before I go ading the Aspec Body kit.....

Then I think I'm done......at my age (40) I don't want it too modded out.....LOL

Legally schmegally... :-) Yeah, they probably do.

I always thought they were illegal, but after doing a little bit of research (as in: since you wrote this, so not much) it appears as though they can be any color: http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d12/vc25102.htm. Obviously, it might be different in your state.

Nice mods for your car. The back looks great. I have an 05 TL ASM. I want to have pretty much the same set up as yours.
How much does it cost for the 07 Spoiler, Tail lights and Markers? And where did you get them?
Let me know,
Thanks

Thanks - I'm really happy with it. The spoiler was $100.00, the side markers another $100.00 and the tails were $200.00 - not a bad investment for all of that and the look after.

Some guys use Honda Acura World - I always go to Acura of Escondido - I've had really great service from AOE so I stick with him for all my needs.

I was really surprised how easy it was to swap and add this stuff to the back end - really easy.

May 2006 Updated PICS - Zaino!!

It's been a while since I updated my thread with some recent pics. Here's a few after spending 8 hours giving my baby her first Zaino treatment. Check out the reflections after just one application.

Started with all of my supplies ready to go!!!
I even got some new MF towels from Excel Detail great guy to do business with.

Here she is - I don't know what is more beautiful - the TL or the tulips!~

Check out the reflection in the hood......

I still love these tails..........

More reflections - see me in there taking the pic?

Check out the hood again..........see the trees???

Check out the tulips again...........this time in the reflection !!!

My two loves - my house and my TL. Good thing the house is paid for.......

Just another pretty rear.....

That Zaino job looks great. I'll soon be in the Zaino family, like maybe this summer or something. I'm still pretty stoked on my Meguiar's Gold Class.

The prep with Zaino sucks ......lot's of work and a full day. Now I just have to add a couple more coats and I'll be good - they say the more coats the deeper and glossier the shine - I can hardly wait
