ssbusa's '04 NBP 6MT Photography Thread: TL Movie Cameo Update

What's up fellow Aziners! My name is Steve, I've been a fan of this site for a while. I finally decided to start a thread for my 2004 NBP 6MT TL. I bought my TL before senior year of high school in 2005. Paid it off about 3 years ago. I can write a book about all the sh*t that's happened to this car, but most importantly it has kept me alive for almost 10 years and it's been a lot of fun. I am still a noob when it comes to this stuff but I have learned so much since joining Azine. The members I have spoke to have been really cool and helpful.

The mods I did when I first got my car include:
- Tints -- 35 in front and 20 in the back, as well as replacing all interior lights with white LEDs and license plate and back-up light.
- AEM Cold Air Intake
- USA-Spec Audio Interface

The pictures below are from 2011.

So this is just a quick intro, I'm going to follow up with some more mods that were done, as well as a bunch of other stuff in the works.
HAPPY 4th.

Haha good question, I never really had the money for it until recently. And I had no idea people did sh*t like this to TLs, Azine has given me so much inspiration. Funny story an old friend and I got our TLs around the same time and we used to joke about going to 'TL conventions'. Well its actually real and its so cool, I love my car and Im glad there are people out there who share that appreciation.

The power of the dark side/bug bite is too much. It's even trickled over to a Stingray bug too.

I have the bug, trying to control it. Your Stingray is ridiculous, she is perfect as is! Are you modding it at all?

^^^ Thank you, young squire!

I've done over 20 mods to date (since October 15, 2013). And YES-on this car, I've kept a running $$$$ total of the money invested in mods. And no-you DON'T want to know what that number is, to date.

More mods coming this week too-stay tuned!

Update

I had some body work done about 2 years ago. I also had the guy paint my C-Mod grill NBP, but he wouldn't install it said it wouldn't fit. So he painted the OG grill, nice of him but he also burned the paint all over my car with a buffer. When I called him out he refused to admit it and told me it was just wax, but took the car back and 'fixed' the issues I pointed out. I took a loss on that one, one of many with this car. I actually like how clean the painted grill looked but I was itching to get the C-Mod on. This was only on the car for a few weeks:

Also, here is when I broke into 6-digits, big day for me. This was about 6-7 months ago.

Yes it is, I will definitely have a review. Might be hard to tell with all of the other mods I am doing at the same time. Thank you, it's held up really well considering the years of abuse!

Yes a couple negatives actually.
- My rear calipers were SO rusted out I thought I might have to replace them but I was able to clean them up and they are good to go.

They cleaned up pretty well, painted my rotors too.

- One of my front brembos has a stripped bleeder valve so I am trying to source a local replacement, that should do the trick with a rethread of the caliper. Will have to see.
- My brake fluid was totally black, had it replaced less than a year ago, or so I thought.
- And the stainless steel brake lines I got from Excelerate were too short for the rear and too long for the front, so trying to figure out what happened there. Anybody have that happen to them? I guess you could say bad brakes for me.

That is part of the teaser! It is something I picked up on the BM from a well-known member. The packing was very good I had to take a picture of the cardboard shoe insert that was in there I thought it was pretty funny. Should have some new pics up in the next week or two

Awesome, lookin forward to it.

Give Josh a call at XLR8 about the brake lines.

Don't despair, both my front caliper bolts were seized when I first did my brakes. Had to have a shop re-thread them. Good as new now

Thanks man!
Spoke with Josh, trying to get a replacement set ASAP. I might go with the Racingbrake stainless braided lines from heeltoe depending on what I can get faster..Has anybody installed either of these sets? Recommendations?
Yeah this isn't the first time I've had this happen with the brembos.

Headlights look sick!! I want JnC to do mine as well.

Also, idk how high res your pics are, but it takes FOREVER to load. Maybe don't use the full resoultion pics?

Thank you! JnC and I went back and forth for a while working on exactly what I wanted, I'm really happy with the final product. Farukh's input was critical especially functionality-wise. Really good dude. I also got a pair of Osram 66240 CBI D2S and ebay switchbacks. I was really tempted to go with VLEDs but maybe that will be a project down the road...

Yeah most of the pics are from my iPhone, but the nicer ones are from my nikon...the file sizes are below 5mb...I'll scale down next time I agree that is a PITA. I will be doing a proper photo shoot next week possibly. Lets see if I can crash azine's servers
