Skwatoe do you have a tutorial you could share? Your work is amazing. I have been playing with CS3 a bit and I can swap wheels and lower cars and stuff but I want to learn some of your tricks if you don't mind sharing.

It's crazy how I never noticed this picture. I kind of like how this started.

 

I've started on "godfather2's" TSX I have no clue what direction I'm going to take on it yet though, lol.

I really like the new interface of CS4; it's much faster to do alot of the techniques I use.

I'll try to do a tutorial on godfather2's chop so everyone can see my thought process, or lack there of, lol.

Ok, here we go again! This time, I've put together a mini tutorial to go along with the chop. This was a very strait forward background change, so nothing too fancy...

Before:


Getting prepped for surgery:


I took the original photo, along with a +2 overexposure, and a -2 underexposure into Photomatix Pro:


Using the pen tool, I outlined the TSX and the road:


Marching Ants (make selection; 0 px):


Make a new layer from your selection (layer via copy):


Now you can add whatever background you like:


Combine all your layers:


Now you can add whatever effects you want. I just added some stock kanji from one of my brush sets:

Oh, and as a little "bonus," I'm going to start adding and Avatar sized pc of the finished piece, JIC:
