And you taped the filter as well? How is the air going in?

I think the tape thing gotta go. But..... If you want performance , don't be lazy. get the proper one. or just modify it without the tape. (for looks)

That is not duct tape. It is Thermo Shield. It can reflect radiant heat up to 2000 degree.

The filter is inside the heat shield.

I like my SRI, it's one of the kind. The sound is amazing. At low rpm: very nice sound. At high rpm: you can hear me from far away. Also, i'll never worry about rain any more.

Looks pretty cool..

I wonder how well that thermal stuff works?
Is it too hot to touch after running it hard?

The thermal works great. It is not hot at all when you touch it.

This actually is not cheap at all. I dont want to follow people so i make i old intake. Why should i pay $268 for AEM and then worry about rain while i can have some fun by making one. It works even better than CAI. And trust me, you should try it or see it, you will love it.

Maybe post up a better pic cause it looks like you taped the filter all the way down. Is your heatshield like a giant can and you taped up the sides and left one opening on the bottom? Where is it drawing the air from?

Hey i like it also i have a K&N intake its got two options either cold air of short ram andi chose short ram because i dont wanna worry about the rain and the pipe on mine has a foam thing that covers the pipe and the outside looks silver just like yours. And i like the way mine sounds also. But mine the filter didnt come covered.

Functionality wise I am sure it works great, the aesthetics though are a bit rough around the edges if you catch my drift. Not something in a showcar engine bay thats for sure, but perhaps in a race car engine bay? In the end, if you are happy with it then thats all that matters.
