so i went ahead and did this to my 07 TL-S nav drive. i've had the dreaded 'disc read error' message for many months. so i got the unit out of the trunk and brough it inside, i had the DIY fix thread printed out for reference.
so here is how the inside of mine looks, and the next picture is the laser lense i found. it was easily accessible. you can see the screwdriver pointing at it. (sorry for pic quality)
after i cleaned off the lense with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip...i reinstalled everything and fired it up.
worked like a charm, tho i think i will still replace my current nav disc soon...it is very scratched up.

sent my headlights to JnC for him to fix the angel eyes, replace LED strip, and polish inner and outer lenses.
buddy of mine let me borrow his type-s headlights in the meantime so i don't have any down time.
hope to reinstall next weekend weather permitting.

will do. i was originally going to tackle the project myself, but JnC did the work to my headlights previously so i figure he'll be able to track down the issue faster than i can.
i'll update this thread tho and let you know how he fixed everything.

Yeah, eff that...it's well worth the money to let someone else do it, plus you know it'll be perfect when he's done with it. In for updates.

^^it's not the snow you have to worry about...it's the salt and road crap on the paint. the MDX is nice a salty after driving this AM. the TL...sleeping cozily in the garage.

dooooood love the purple paint, i saw a pic on daves phone a while back and thought you had smurf blue wheels and grape drink purple paint. i was wrong your car is awesome as always.
i wanted to ask you about your wheels and their finish, im looking for a set of wheels for my m3 and a always liked the finish on those wheels of yours against black paint. think im sold on a set of bbs rc's in 18x9.5's square setup that are similar in design to your setup, but ill have to get them refinished. ill have something like this but with darker wheels and a 4 door with smoked turns. should be nice, an 17lb wheel that i can get a 255 square tire setup on.

Removed, resoldered, reinstalled Umnitza Halos
Removed old LED strips, installed new ones
Rewired everything
Replaced CF overlays
Replaced Chrome strips
Resurfaced inside and outside of lenses
Clear coated outside lenses
What a pain in the F**king ass project, took about 12~15 hours of time . This is why I hate working with aftermarket LED products, great to look at, awful when it comes to dependability.
