Serge's Silver '06 TL
#1
What's up guys! My names Sergio, pretty new to this forum I figured I'd make a build/picture thread before I get to modifying this car. Also gonna show a few of my past projects. I originally bought the TL to get out of the car scene, I was spending too much money on cars and living in southern California I got kinda tired of having to worry about where I parked my cars. I've always liked this body style TL so I figured I'd buy one and keep it stock. well that didn't last long haha
Here's a few pics of past projects starting from my first project which was while I was in highschool (2005), to my last which was around July of 2013
2005-2008
2009-2011
2011-2012 (Project & Daily Driver)
2013
Anyway so now were all caught up haha onto the TL
its a Silver 2006 Base model, right off the bat I knew I needed an a spec kit for it so I went to acura ordered that along with the window visors, then I bought the so cal autosports tips, did the headunit, speakers, amps and woofers, lowered it on tein s.techs and type s tails, rode with it like that since July of 2013
Now January 2014 I got bit by the bug again, bought Weds Kranze LXZ's, this month (Feb 2014) I purchased tires for the wheels, Federal 595 EVO's. And also ordered BC Racing Coilovers.
Test fit the wheels real quick to kinda see how much camber I would need
Also got bored and vinyl wrapped some of the interior trim
I'll try to keep this as updated as possible, I'm usually not good at doing so but I'll try.

Welcome! I like your previous cars, especially the boosted eg, and the blue em1. I used to have a black ej1 and yours reminded me of mine, check my picture thread out if you want to see a few pics of it.

thanks guys! hopefully it'll turn out just how I want it, I didn't wanna go too wide on the wheels cuz I don't want to run a lot of camber but well see how things go!
the ones pictured I cleared myself when I did the zkw-r lens swap, at the beginning of the month I had a bit of bad luck recently though, a shelf that was mounted on the wall in front of where I park the car in the garage fell on the car and banged up the front end, it'll be going to the shop next week for repairs, the headlights got banged up as well, they cut me a check for them and I went ahead and ordered a set of type s headlights from the local Acura dealer, they should be in tomorrow morning, the coil-overs should be in on Tuesday

Couple updates
So got the TL-S headlights yesterday, pulled them out of the box and they went straight into the oven for the zkw-r upgrade, put them back together and onto the car, i like them just not as much as my modded base headlights, I'm sure they'll grow on me eventually.
here's a comparison shot of them, tl-s on the left, modded base on the right
Today (03/04/2014) I received my BC Racing coilovers as well! did the install and adjusted them, they ride great! Really couldn't be happier with my purchase!
Out with the old in with the new!
I threw them on just how they were in the box and this is the stance they gave me haha I raised the front & left the rear alone, the rear eventually settled right on the tire eliminating any gap, the front had to be raised a good two inches.
The end of the day, i'll take better pics with my dslr tomorrow after a good wash!

Thanks!
So she's finally all buttoned up, I left the rear seats and engine bay covers off so I can make adjustments to the dampers as needed but I'll put those back on when I feel comfortable with the adjustments, also took out the amber bulbs from the corners and put the switchbacks back in, digging the lts headlights a bit more this way

Thanks guys!
Hopefully soon! all I need is front & rear camber arms and a set of tpms sensors, still trying to figure out how I'm going to mount the tpms sensors, most likely going to run a metal band inside the wheel to strap the sensors in place
I didn't like the spoiler at first but it grew on me, I may take it off if I can ever get my hands on a csl spoiler

here are a couple pictures, I couldn't take any great ones or drive anywhere to take any because my dog was sick this morning so I had to take him to the vet, got home washed the car really quick and snapped a couple shots so you can see a bit better what I have to work with, I'll try getting better ones of the whole car soon

Haha yeah I can't imagine living in places where it snows, I've never seen in snow but doesn't look like it's much fun
Couple updates, thought the front end needed a couple things so I bought some foglights for it, did the install, still need to trim the grills more but got distracted when I decided I wanted to wrap the upper grill, came out pretty decent IMO, haven't wired the fogs yet so they don't power on, I'm waiting on a drl module to get to me then i'll do all the wiring, camber kits have also been ordered so the only thing left on the list is tpms sensors, need to go to acura to get those probably in the next couple weeks then tweak everything so the wheels fit perfectly.

Damn ej1serge I love all each and everyone of your Hondas. I use to have a boosted EBP civic si too but sadly sold it and got a WDP TL now. Can you tell me how the BC coils ride? Is it better then stock feeling wise. Do you feel the tiny bumps and deformations on the road with those? I am looking for a nice set of coilovers. Thanks!

as for the BC's they ride great, I honestly could not be happier. I was looking for a smooth ride not track suspension and not anything stiff. I wanted a smooth, relaxed ride. I must say they delivered, I got 12/8 spring rates, I have the front dampers at 15 clicks (out of 30) and the rears at 7 clicks (also out of 30), you can feel deformations on the road but they aren't uncomfortable, like slight dips on the road, small potholes, asphalt patches stuff like that it feels smooth, you cant feel it a lot but you do feel it. Big potholes you will feel but that's also something you'd feel with stock suspension. Also no weird noises, no knocks, upper control arms don't hit the shock towers, so far no complaints. my girlfriend hadn't even notice I had changed suspension till I told her lol she liked the ride as well
we took a drive down PCH to a museum outside of downtown LA this past Monday, it rained most of last week so there was a lot of fresh potholes to test the suspension on but no complaints here, I love it.

Thanks man!
Small update,
Went out to acura bought tpms sensors today, and my spc camber arms came in last night, I want to mount the tpms sensors hidden inside the tire so i ordered some worm clamp type bands off ford/Lincoln's catalog so I can do it that way, I'm hoping this method works lol anyone here done it this way?
Almost time to get the wheels on! I'm getting excited! Looks like all I need now is the skunk2 front camber arms, once I mount the wheels I'm gonna decide wether or not to get the Ingalls rear lower arms to get the wheels to sit perfectly straight
