Sanding down Work lips... oh no...

It was time to polish up the lips. They had water stains and scratches, so I decided to sand them down and re-polish them. I bought these wheels without any clear finish on the lips only.

I started with wet sanding 800 grit, finished with 2000 grit.
Buffed out with mothers aluminum polished.
Then wax/sealed with colinite 845.

Results = beautiful.
Time = About 4 hours.

Water stains

Sanding

Polishing

Finished product with wax.

Front rim polished and waxed.

Thank you! My hands are hurting so from the work. I never ever in my life took this long to polish something.. It's usually right away but these wheels gave me a run for my money.

Superb work!! looks BRAND NEW man

I remember i saw a thread on on how to polish lips, the guy said he literally had the car on jack stands and had a friend run the car at 5-10mph while he held a sandpaper at the lip LOL sounds like a dangerously good idea...but good thing you didn't do that and it came out nice

Thanks bro! Thanks f'n crazy! Just imagine if you slip and your hand flies into the rim.... yeah hahahha. Being safe is number one, not worth to lose a hand or fingers over a rim.
