RPTLS08 Progress thread: Aggressive offset update 12/10/2014
alright guys i have some good news and bad news.
good news is that i got my new tires mounted today. nexen n7000 and i went with a 225 this time instead of a 235 for some more stretch. i also scheduled my install for spacers and and alignment tomorrow at noon.
bad news is that i couldnt get my wheels refinished in time for IA so ill be rolling with the rashed up wheels
and my secret project ran into some complications so it wont be done until mid august because i leave for canada until the 8th on tuesday

Nicely done
. I have a few questions for you: 1. How's the ride on air vs being static? 2. How reliable is air ride in the Winter? TIA. I just wanted to know because I might look into either getting the coilover cup kit or go with Accuair.
2. it gets moderately cold here in NC (no less than 20 at night where i live) but when i go see my parents in the mountains it can get in the low teens at night. ive never had issues with the cold air. actually driven the car in snow once and it was fine. it just takes a little longer to get the car at ride height when its colder but nothing to irritating.
overall air is the best move ive made with the car. i love the look of being slammed but as a daily driver it got really irritating especially when i was in college in raleigh because of the roads and entrances to places i frequently visited. the fact that i can daily drive at a decent height without worry really makes life easy and at the same time i can slam the car when i need to. hit me up if you have more questions
haha im hoping that with the spacers my car isnt goofy looking because it will be really aggressive for our platform. the project im working on is becoming a real pain in the ass and hopefully it looks alright. i would have it ready if i would have had a shop do it but wheres the fun in that

no fun in that....the satisfaction you get from doing a mod yourself is just priceless....
either way, your car is MINT and i bet you will pull the new mod off very very well....

haha ill think about letting you guys in... its not as big of a deal as you may be led to believe but its def something not alot of people have done on here
with the mixture of bumper rash from being static and flawed paint my car is FAR from mint haha but i appreciate the compliment either way.

i had everything ready to roll with the interior and then i had a great business opportunity come up so i put it on hold (according to my dad made the responsible move) and put all the money i had saved up towards an interior new paint and wheels towards that. im def bummed about putting everything towards something other than my car but i know that i made the right move. its time i got my priorities right and hopefully this venture will one day allow me to really make my car the way i hope it will be
haha im always on azine reading and learning i just dont post much other than in the photo gallery and the tires/suspension section

i havent had any police trouble with it... i had mine done through a guy i know who was willing to do it. i actually just relocated to gboro and my roommate knows some local guys who might be able to do the tint for you. he got his done locally and his windshield is the same % as mine. ill find out and shoot you a PM
spacers are on today. my offsets are now +1 front and -1 rear.
we did run into some issues and my car is not sitting the way i wanted it to. i found that the SPC camber kits that i have installed do not give me enough adjustability in the front. they were maxed out at -3 before i had spacers and it was tucking nicely. now the front is extremely aggressive looking. the rears had plenty of room for adjustment but when we adjusted the camber to make the wheel tuck and i aired down the rear was sitting A LOT lower than the front and it looked ridiculous so right now they are set at the same amount i had before spacers.
i need to get a more adjustable camber kit for the front. from what i have read SPC offers the most adjustment so I think i have to go custom. does anyone have any suggestions for me?
ill post some pics in the AM

damn man that is very very aggressive...as far as i know, the only options are SPC/Ingalls and Skunk2....i know Skunk2 does offer more adjustability than SPC which offers more than Ingalls (my ingalls max out at -1.4
)
cant wait to see them pix....

thanks man... its just frustrating. the rears were PERFECT but the damn fronts would go any more negative.

thanks for the info. ive emailed marcus at heeltoe to see what he has to say. we spent a lot of time working on my car and a few other cars today so i was too beat to take any pics when i got home. ill post some iphone shots in the am and there should be a lot from this weekend.
and dude take your time for the pix....all good things in life, take time
haha yeah im pretty much sitting here on azine and using the measurements i took earlier to figure out how to possibly get more camber out of my current system and how to create a custom one if needed
1. the air system ride differently at different heights. at ride height its a happy medium between a stiff ride and a soft ride. pretty close to OEM ride. the higher i am the stiffer the ride is. when im driving really low it softens up substantially.
2. it gets moderately cold here in NC (no less than 20 at night where i live) but when i go see my parents in the mountains it can get in the low teens at night. ive never had issues with the cold air. actually driven the car in snow once and it was fine. it just takes a little longer to get the car at ride height when its colder but nothing to irritating.
overall air is the best move ive made with the car. i love the look of being slammed but as a daily driver it got really irritating especially when i was in college in raleigh because of the roads and entrances to places i frequently visited. the fact that i can daily drive at a decent height without worry really makes life easy and at the same time i can slam the car when i need to. hit me up if you have more questions

Ravin....i didnt think SPC could do 3degrees negative in the front.....Im runnin the Hella FLUSH custom ones from HEELTOE....SKUNK 2....and SPC Rears AT 3 degrees also.....So i dont know how much more negative there is....R U sure u are at 3degrees in the front....
rash isnt too bad... when i first bought the wheels i never thought about going with air. had i know i was getting air i would have ordered the same wheels in a 19x11 -10 front and 19x12 -14 rear. im shopping for wheels again but it wont be until next season because of the business i just bought. i put all of my car mod savings towards that.
Hey RAV......Proper pics Thread....https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-tires-wheels-suspension-97/dont-hate-congratulate-864469/
LOL same here when i ordered my wheels I didn't know i would be going air so i didn't go for a wider setup.
