Rotora's Installed.......Thanks Exelerate!!

Well, the pads and rotors came in a few weeks ago, and I installed them last weekend at a friends house. So far, they are great. Still in the break-in period, but so far, much less dust......

Big thanks to Josh from Excelerate. Everything worked out great and the price could not be beat!!

Next is stainless lines and new fluid.....

Enjoy the pics!!

mmm.....pretty new brakes.....

Ohh....shiny....

AHHH!!!! Holy worn pads & rotors batman!

And just for grins....

johnny... what exactly are you doing for the break in? I just ordered some brakes from josh and was wondering what I should be expecting for the break in...

as per the instructions from rotora, no heavy braking or ABS for the first 200-500 miles. Also, right after installation, you want to do 2-3 hard stops from 40-0, 60-0 and 80-0 and in between the higher speed stops, let the brakes cool down by driving without braking for about 10 minutes.

Proper break-in is damn near illegal on the streets, so do the best you can. Do some searches online for it and you will get a lot more detailed information though. My instructions are just basics......

I always wonder what magic mystical land manufacturers take their car to do these break ins. Either that or they expect you to do the brake install and break in on the damn salt flats. Where are you going to go where you don't stop for 10 minutes without first braking to get there?

Damn breaking in brakes.

How come the front rotors are coated and the rears are not?

Both of mine were coated when they came in from Excellerate...

I am a little dissapointed in the looks of mine, after the coated finish was gone it left the rotors in a weird dull greyish finish instead of the bright metallic finish like in the picture above of the rear rotors.

Also, you should have painted those rear calipers while you were at it, that is what i did.... It looks 100X better

Yeah, I know I wanted to paint them, but I ran out of time. They are easy enough that I can do them whenever.....

As for the coating, I'm not sure. They pretty much look the same now, maybe a bit darker in front, but I'm not too concerned.
