Rocky, I had some friends in the Type S tonite and turned on the lights and they both said "WOW, I love the red lights on my feet !!!" Heck, I even took the car over to my Mom's and even she thought it looked great.

Steven, that looks great.

I've always liked rockyfeller's ride and the lighting he showed here was nice. Really neat that it inspired you to do it "Type-S Style".

WTF??? Why isn't my name capitalized???

Hahahahaha...thanks for the love playboy...what's up Rocky! Love the light show, though that dual climate LED would get on my nerves. Not a puddle light man myself but some guys make it work! Very nice man, very nice...

Ok, now that you are finished with YOUR car, get your ass down here to Maryland and do mine! You owe me big time for not doing the demon lights!

Yo darky! Whats up foo? You used to be a fixture on Azine last year, now you are a rare sight. What ever happened to the halos? That was like a year ago! I told you I would take care of you...When you quit playin take a ride up to NY and we can make it happen. Remember u were actually considering it at one point? Well strips in the headlights are starting to be the fad now. My halos are runnin strong.

The blue dual LED was annoying till I diffused it a bit, now it is fine and looks great because it matches everything.

yeah those are decals on the headrests...didn't sound like a good idea. They turned out pretty good and they don't look like they are decals.

Hey guys I just did one more small detail mod to come closer to completing my matching blue LED interior.

Blue PIE X3 Switching Control
I believe this is another "first" on Azine. I have a PIE X3 Audio Interface in my car. It lies in my bottom console and isn't seen too much because the door can close over it. It has 4 switch positions that light up in red. Not that is was a big deal but you KNOW I had to change that up! Finally got around to fire up my soldergun and changed all 4 LEDs to blue. AAhhhh much better!

Mismatching not allowed. All blue coordination here!

Thanks again guys.

The headrest logos were made by a guy who makes logos on Ebay. He makes them in a standard 2.5" size or something. That is obviously too big so I asked him to make it a smaller 1.5" size. He didn't want to at first but I convinced him and paid him a lil extra. I did it over 2 yrs. ago so I forgot who he is, but I am sure you can get it done just like I did.

Yeah I did notice darky started posting on the Ramblings section more often, he was beginning to look like an addict for awhile. I thought he was more addicted to his car Stella though. His car is probably all hooked up now and he's happy with it.

Those Ramblings topics are weird as hell BTW; doesn't even seem like you are on an Acura forum anymore. Oh well, I don't get it, I stick here to the 3GTL forum 99% of the time. I spend more time than I should up here. I actually wish I could spend more time up here, I have to limit myself. But then again I would never get anything done in life, lol!

Thanks Steven. Those sills are in blue and you can get TL-S ones in red. I love them! Actually when I first researched this 2 yrs. ago I wanted to be different and get white sills. There was a guy who would take your OEM sills and cut the Acura part out and backlight it for you! They look SO nice because they are not an overlay. The final result has an amazing OEM finish! The light is flush and looks great. When I realized this might cost me as much as $350++ I changed my mind and went with Supercomputer's sill I asked him to do white and he said there would be no demand. I settled for blue.

Only a couple people have done this mod because the person who does it kinda stop making these. Here is a pic of what I am talking about from a long time ago. Sorry I forgot where I pulled this from. All credit goes to the original owner.

^^ Now THAT is HOTT!!!!

Rocky...I agree with you. I like the lighted sills, but I wanted more that just the work "Acura" lit. On my '07 Type S, there are about 4 horizontal lines on each side of the word "Acura". I would want those lit as well, not just the "Acura" in the middle. I actually tried to use automotive pinstripping on those horizontal lines, but they didn't stay on. Then, getting them installed is another hurdle for me.

Hmm interesting idea. If all those boxes were cut on either side of the "Acura" and backlit it would be cool. But I am sure that would be a bit too much. I only like subtle mods, and that would border into the world of "blingy".

Could you imagine maybe small pinholes in those boxes where the light just peeks through? Nowadays pin size openings for LEDs are a hot thing. People do that effect in headliners of limos etc. One of Rolls Royce's latest cars has an option like that for the headliner. They would look like little specks; like stars. Kinda like a fiber optic look if you know what I mean. Wonder what that would look like.........

It's a tiny little bulb that resembles a single LED with a wedge contact on it. It's called a "#74 bulb".

Rockyfeller - Do you have a writeup or a step by step handy for the bulb replacement for the center console/navi unit? I sear if I have one more bulb blow, I'm going to break down and replace all the incandescents with LEDs. It seems like every time I get in the car at night, I notice another button or switch that is not lit.

^ Yeah there are a few out there but not really as helpful as I would like. I might break down and swap them out sooner or later.

A full LED dash has been talked about many times. Just be careful with all the resistor values as they vary from site to site. LED conversions have been tried by some people without success. Good luck if you pull it off, because it'll be a first. It's been done on the 2GTL but not the 3GTL yet.

Nobody sees the tint on them? I did do rockblockers tint on them. I like the light smoke look. I am not a fan of the Type-S tail even though everyone says they would go with my car. I MAY do a cleared out signal look (like the Chinese TL)

I am about to enter a surgical residency.....Ortho would be great (I wish!!) Let's see, it is VERY competitive. But nothing is impossible. As you can see with my car skills, I am dextrous and mechanical I was born to be a surgeon. On the side I run a number of businesses, one of which trains other doctors with clinical skills....if any of you are doctors PM me!

An update, as I predicted, half my puddle lights were starting to go out. They don't seem to have been majorly actively shorting like last time, they were just zapped out. I did them twice so that is the last time I use those cheap modules. They work fine year around until winter hits. It looks like that is what kills them. Snow/ice/sand getting thrown up and salt corrosion. I disconnected power to them for now even though half are still working.

I saw some nice modules from Oznium that are made really well in an aluminum housing and are BRIGHT! I thought of using them under the sills recessed with holes punched out. They are weatherproof and made really well. (Rodney showed them to me too.) Only problem is they are $15ea......that would make it a $150 mod....I think there's a better way...

I am looking into better possibilities as I tackle this as a spring project. This time I will do a proper, sealed, recessed quality job. So far the best job I have seen is on Terry919's car, and I aim to get that look. Have a few ideas, let's see what happens. Anybody have suggestions?
