Hehe yea I've been sayin I'm going to update for awhile. I will be posting a thread with ALL my mods soon.
My car is going to the bodyshop tomorrow to fix the front bumper. I am redoing the front end, new Accord fogs (Glass broke on one the other is chipped) and the meshed grill is going to be totally redone. I am doing my UR pulley and possibly J-pipe next month. Car will look mint at that point and I will take nice pics/video with my D-SLR.

Just a little thread revival here to mention a tidbit of something great I just discovered. I wanted to share but didn't want to bother to make a new thread about it. Hopefully when searched on the forum it will link here:
Many of you may have 3M Di-Noc or 1080 Scotch carbon fiber vinyl overlay accents on parts of your car. Like this:
I have it on my rear window spoiler and both front and back A-Spec lips. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has run into the unfortunate circumstance of getting some wax rubbed on by accident on the edges. I actually waxed my entire window spoiler thinking it might help....lol. NOPE bad idea. The wax residue got all lodged into the miniscule textured weave of the vinyl. No matter what I tried to get it out: Soap, isopropyl alcohol, goo gone etc. Nothing worked. A haze would always remained that made the vinyl look terrible, grey, faded and UV damaged, when in reality it was really just wax residue.
So I searched and searched for an answer to remove wax from carbon fiber vinyl. Lo behold I was surprised that hardly anybody knows the answer. Would you believe the answer is as simple as this: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser! I am sure most of you know how brilliant this invention is with it's many uses. It's up there with WD40, superglue, zip ties and goo gone, lol.
It works like nothing else can for this issue. I used a solution of diluted 20% alcohol and soapy solution, but I imagine you can use just regular water as well. Be careful to not overdo it though, although the eraser is foam, it is microscopically abrasive so you will see it won't take much work to get it out. By the way if this doesn't work for you, some have also suggested peanut butter. I dunno, I didn't try that, lol. But this worked for me. I hope this helps someone.

Haha, good to hear from you too Steve!
I've been back up here since 2014, regarding tranny threads and the new TLX threads, so that got me back in here. Everyone knows I was an addict up here from 2006-2009. Then I guess my car was "done", in the sense I did all the mods I dreamed of. Then I moved on towards the sportbike world and got absorbed into that for 3-4yrs and hardly made time to check in here.
So I've cycled back. I missed AZine as I always say it's one of the best forums. My intention when I bought my car was to do a full build thread. This thread is a half attempt at that but it is not really comprehensive. I have another thread regarding all my A/V installs. I still have never really done a FULL proper photoshoot of my car with the WORK wheels and full mods. I have no excuse, I have a D-SLR and all the equipment to do it. That's something I'll put together towards the summer.

Of course Komodo, I remember! Good to see you too guys. Though many of the OGs have sold their TLs, I guess there's still a few of us left.
It would be nice to have one of those old meet ups around NYC. I still have my "orange club" dog tag in my car, lol.

Thanks guys. Wheels really make the car. The first time I saw staggered wheels on a 3G was at Chicago AZine meet. I thought; what's the point? This is a FWD car. But the more I looked at it, the more I fell in love with the look. It just goes with the wedge profile of the car and that sexy rear end of the TL was just asking for the wide stance in the rear.
I'm not a huge fan of the straight VIP look, but I knew I wanted something along those lines. When I saw ib18c1's TL on those WORK Varianzas I knew right there, that was "the look" I was aiming for. Faiz bought the Schwert SC1s which are a step up from the Varianzas. I liked the fact that they were even more rare. He hardly used them a few weeks and I knew I had my golden opportunity so I jumped on them. I guess I am not the "wheel whore" type of guy that wants to switch up the rims all the time. As anyone that has followed my thread can see that everything I've done has been carefully planned to achieve a preconceived concept. With these wheels I found "my look" and it's been 5ys now. I am not sick of it at all. Still feels fresh to me every time I get in my car.
I was telling another member how wheels can totally change the personality of the car. It's as if my car has 2 different modes with my seasonal switchover. In effect, this switches up the flavor and is enough to keep it interesting for me. The winter mode is my A-Spec wheels. It has that sleek, sporty, understated look. I noticed that women and people over 40 really like this look and they always give complements. I've even been followed and chased down, lol. Summer mode is the WORK wheels and it has much more of a attention grabbing stance. I noticed that guys under 40 in particular really rubberneck. It's a cell phone camera magnet. It's just funny to see the contrast in reactions though. So what does that make me? Half woman, half old guy I guess, haha.
