rockstar143's '04 NBP progress thread (part deux continues after 6 year hiatus)
This is maintenance only, fellas...the P2R gasket just didn't line up from factory, the bolt holes are set, don't think there's much movement there to have misaligned THAT badly, but maybe...just figured now that it has an indentation, easier to just set it down on the same pattern and dremel the extra out. No real, tips...aside from using some bright painter's tape to tape up all hoses and clamps and clips you undo from the intake...I mean, mostly it's obvious, but I didn't want to forget any.
Also, I ordered a new oem intake hose...the one meant for the type s that bmore was nice enough to give me was slightly misaligned (intended for type s) and already developed a crack. Also, realized that my "new" serpentine belt was actually almost 4 years old now...ordered a new one. I'd rather EVERYTHING, maintenance wise, be brand new at the same time.
I work 40 hours a week, but I work early...7 to 4pm and wife gets home closer to 630pm every day so I have a few hours to myself if I decide to, other than that, I don't have kids and haven't played PS3 in months so I really come home and have a short list of things I want to get done. I am tackling in stages, no rush with the 2nd car. I am CERTAINLY not rich, I just manage my money decently...there's a reason my new toy is a 10 year old Honda and not a Brand new Cadillac V or Mustang GT500...
Even with the S2000...sold the hard top and even with my modding, I'm still "technically" (read: full of sh*t) in the green with the amount of money I've spent.
Hey, it keeps me going...I just can't really sit on the couch and relax when I have some free time and KNOW I can go figure something out or make something better or fix something. I'd rather tackle it than to have it weighing on my mind on the back burner. Trust me, it's a flaw, not a positive trait.

Thanks guys!
Thank very much, Josh...I appreciate it, man. Honestly, that was weighing HEAVILY on my mind. Spend the money, or wait, or drive the TL less or what...now, smooth sailing!

Dude, I am digging the concave wheels. Way better then the flat flush fit, although you rocked them hard as hell too. I noticed since I left the Ak game, concave is the way to go and the deep lips aren't as popular as it was just over a year ago. I like it! That is the route I would have traveled myself if I still had the TL.

Nope, don't be dummmm Anil. He has a family to think of. He traded his mild mannered 4 door family sedan for a 2 door hell on wheels track beast like any responsible father would.
Hey, at least his kids will respect him for being a real man

Honestly, Costco...I could say the exact same thing ten days ago. It's a bigger more scary job in theory than in practice, I'll say that.
