Sorry Jeremy. Anil, Buda and I are fixing one of my headlights today...water condensation! Time to reseal....

Naw, wasn't drunk...I just got complacent with the power and ability of the rotary to fk shit up.
Steven, hope it goes well!
Josh, there are pics in the thread, I'm sure. Mats are oem and pedals, USR so fitment is perfect.

Ok, so I had a pretty productive weekend. Decided to tackle a few mods I'd been meaning to and one I DIDN'T.
Fixed my shock sensor, and finally finished sanding and polishing and sealing my headlights. Goodbye yellow tint in certain lighting!

THEN, for some reason yesterday I decided that my type S tails in the attic, were never going to be back on the car with the chrome bezel, (and small corner chip)...so might as well give modding tails another shot. Overall...not too bad.
Check out my culmination of diy threads and hopeful garage entries.
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...=618762&page=4
Also a little DIY from other members on how to make it EASY to swap tails in the future.
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...8#post14040738
Here are my end results
What I did was:
NPB color matched bezel
CF wrap on reflector
removed frosted lens
sealed back up with butyl tape

Steven, thank you for the compliment, man! I appreciate it!
You aren't lying! I thought it was funny as fk that there was a NO PARKING on grass sign and since it's the weekend and that's a school...no harm! I'm hardcore, on the DL...
Thank you Tyler!
aren't you Nikon? What you want with my rinky dink lens!!!!?!?
Dude...I promise you I was too much of a bitch to do this for a LONG time...probably 6 months since I last attempted anything...but recently I realized that the stock oem type s tails would NEVER find their way back on my car so now was as good a time as any to black out and do what I had planned to do. I slept on it last night and woke up today scared...but motivated. Started cutting before I gave myself a chance to give up. Now, I'm decently confident with this mod.
Thank you, darlin.... I appreciate the compliment!

06TL, thanks man!
Dreem1er...well, that's the beauty part...now, with that easy tail swap mod, I can't switch em out whenever I want! Good thing is that I am pretty sure I am a pretty unique set, as I haven't seen any like this...and with the smoked, there's NO contrast and the turn signal is barely visible during the day (due to reflector being smoked from factory).
Who knows, but for now, I feel like a king, dude...I conquered a mod I was very afraid to do and am really happy with how it looks.
J.

Hahaha what a rebel! Great pics man
Tails turned out great, I like how I get the inside scoop on all your new projects
The black bezel and CF wrap look sic, much better than the chrome!

Whats up with RDX owners?

I think Im alone in saying this -
I prefer the frosted taillights. They look brighter and easier to see. From a safety standpoint, theyre better.

Thanks you Tyler...I love you too, pretty boy.
Morgan, funny you should say that, I thought same thing, but honestly, from a safety perspective the camera did NOT capture the true brightness of the unfrosted led's very well. I promise you, it's very bight, just a lot more focused and less spread out, if that makes sense. In a very odd way, it really updated the rear of the car and when braking/parking lights...it really looks like a more modern light now.
Yall are making blush in a major way (no homoo).
Morgan, my car feels similar about you. Call her, maybe?
Hey hey hey, you guys...get the heck away from my poor car's orifices! Dang...is this what having a daughter is like?
Best case, since I used butyl to close the light, and cut out the bottom for easy removal, and removed the frosted lens from the inside...it's very easily reversible and I could actually put the frosted lens back in fairly easily.
BUT, that said, I'm LOVE with how it looks without it...I don't think I'd commit to melting it out of my other lenses, like others have done. But for these modded lights, I'm very happy with them. I will try and grab a picture of it on a dark street at night from a distance...you'll see what I mean.

Anil, after doing these tails...I'm now confident that any of you guys can do your own. It's a little scary but there is a method to the madness. Where you cut, how you pry open, how to get the bezel out...it's all doable.
