Redsand's Progress Thread

Just wanted to finally give my car a good introduction to AZ, I joined back in July but never had the chance to get any decent pics up. I also plan to use this thread for any mods that I do in the future so I can keep everything organized.

Alright, well without further a due....

July 2010- At the dealer..(the day i fell in love)

August 2010- Tint....Check

and since im so lazy and cant get myself away from the couch when im not working I havent gotten any pics untill today...

January 2011

I would have taken more pics, but someone must have ratted me out because the owner of the house showed up and kicked me out. but oh well, dont have photoshop on this computer yet either so these are unedited as well. (the car is dirty and needs a detail so that dont help either)

But anyway, this is what I have planned for the car...

STAGE 1
● Type-S Rims (if anyone has a set w/o tires in the area let me know)

Stage 2
● Type-S Tails
● Type-S Sidemarkers
● Lip Spoiler

Now from here Im not sure what I want to do, Im torn between swapping the rest of the type-s rear like the bumper/lip/quad exhaust...or keeping it simple and just doing a-spec all around the car front and rear.

I know doing type-s will take a little more effort/$$$ but damn it looks good! lol

I dont really plan to mod the car other then cosmetics, but i need to figure out what i want to do lol

Looks good man...we got our cars at about the same time (bought mine July 2nd). Where are you in NJ? I live up North, but I work down in Edison.

Are you going to debadge it?

I'm not a big fan of Type S wheels...but they'll look better than the stockers

I'm thinking about debadging the rear of everything except the Acura emblem, which i'm pretty sure leaves holes behind it anyway if i'm not mistaken.

Are you by any chance fussy with the tint job?

I'd go back to the tint place and ask them to redo the rear quarter windows all the way to the edge =P

Btw, your house looks sweet!

why not lol, i was a photography student for a while. Sometimes u gotta post up in all kinds of weird places to get the shots u want. plus i'm a big fan of some of the architecture around here. I loved shooting that yellow house.

I try to limit it to just houses that are for sale lol

i know, ive been letting those quarter windows go and they need to fixed asap, i even argued with the guy once about and he said it was impossible. Im gonna try one more time and if he refuses to do it i will have to just find a shop that will...and then of course start spreading nagative word of mouth. Im dissapointed, cause untill this car it was the only shop in the area i trusted. oh well, cant win em all

Reminds me.

My good friend owns a mansion on 50 acres (biggest house around town).
House is huge, has squash court, apartment, everything.

Should try and take a few pictures of my ride at his house =P

My tint shop did the same thing on my quarter windows...looks like u have to remove a bunch of interior pieces to get to the rest of the window.

yeah, and it looks to me that most tint shops are too lazy to god forbid go the extra mile and do it right. I guess if it really bothered me enough i would have done something by now

Thanks man, I was set on finding NBP...and it took me a while to find one with the paint still in perfect condition as far as i'm concerned. I just run it through the automatic car wash around here that i trust once a week.

I know some of you probably cringe at the thought of the auto car wash but I've come to the conclusion that I would rather spend a weekend in the spring detailing the light scratches out, then be out freezing my ass off handwashing in the winter every weekend lol

I've never taken my cars to an automatic car wash, I always wash my cars myself...but in the winter I found a sick "hand wash" car wash near me. It goes through a machine that sprays the car with soap/water/etc and then 4 mexican guys wash it down/dry it inside and out etc...car comes out pristine with no scratches.

Tint ftw

I look forward to seeing your car come together. Personally I would just do the regular 04-06 A-Spec kit. If you want quads, do it properly and get the ATLP Quads with the Type-S rear lip

You mentioned you were a photography student for a while. How did you like that? What camera/lens were you using for these shots?

I think what I am leaning toward is 07-08 type-s a-spec rear end, with the 04-06 a-spec front. Do you think that would blend well together? For some reason I have always liked the look of the stock type-s quads over the atlp but who knows they are kinda growing on me...But, im not doing anything at all untill i get the rims...in my opinion the base rims look real out of place with the type-s tails.

and yeah as far as photography goes i love it, i would love to make a career out of it one day. for those shots i was using my nikon d40x with stock 18-55mm lens. looking to pick up some new lenses soon but money has been tight and it isnt a cheap hobby...

Quite a few members have that set up and I think it looks great! If I were to get quads, I would without a doubt get the Type-S rear lip.

Do you have your heart set on the Type-S wheels? I like the A-Spec wheels more and they would look dope on your car.

I love photography as well and that's why I asked about it. I picked up a Nikon D60 last year and I just got myself a 18-250 zoom lens for Christmas. I'm hoping to have a 10-22 wide angle lens by summer but you're right, this shit isn't cheap. I've been thinking about getting rid of the D60 for another Nikon body that records HD video.

i do like the a-spec rims but there is something about the stock type-s rims thats I love lol. and i dunno man, you might be better off just picking yourself up a one of those stand alone hd video cams like a gopro or something...probably cheaper...
