Pothole fail

so after spending 2-3 hours digging the cars out after the plow trucks decided to block us in last night, heading to work, normally im on point on seeing potholes ahead of time to avoid, seems like i didnt see this one then BAM it was a hard hit too=( got to work and noticed this now i need to find a garage to take it off and look for any other damage, im hoping not to find any cracks on my rim *crosses fingers* lol but yeah this sucks..maybe its time to save up and get new bumper lol

daaaaamn that had to be a hard hit... if your rim and tire both held up to that, its amazing. Either that, or your bumper wasn't properly secured at the top and came loose easy!

i secured it tight the last time i rebaked my headlights, only part that was never secured was the two little clips that holds the bumper , the ones thats in the next to the inside of headlights, those clips where u use a flathead to pin it down? my explanations sucks lol but yeah i kinda broke them a while back, but hopefully no other damage >.>

ouchh.. my advice is contact the city. you could get your entire repair/new parts taken care of, it just takes them awhile to send you a check. oh and if its still there, take pics of the specific pothole to help your case. good luck!

Those are exactly the clips that I pictured popping loose.

That was no pothole...that was a major separation of the Earth's surface. Out in Arizona, we call those CANYONS!

Snow doesn't just mean difficult roads to drive on and loads to shovel..
it also means expansion upon freezing, creating massive potholes.
I swear, I'm moving to the west coast.

I'm sorry to see that happen, I hope you upgrade to an 07-08 bumper; at least you have the opportunity to remove the bumper and remove the headlight to seal it up better?

Eek. Check the rim for cracks/bends. I hit a crater and didn't discover damage until a few days later when my tire was flat from a cracked rim.

Sorry man that sucks. Something similar like that happened to me in Hawaii and the state paid for the damages. I had to fill out all these forms and the state had to determine if it was a "state" or "county" road that the pothole was on. Either way I was reimbursed for damages. Check to see if your state as something similar.
