Quick Q, and couldn't figure an easy way to search this 12 page long post...
Do the covers on the rear need to be removed to replace the brake pads? Does it affect maintenance on the brakes in anyway?
I'm guess not since they come stock on the RDX, but figured I'd ask anyway. 'Bout to pull the trigger on a set for my rears.

Thanks. May go ahead and just do a pad change on the rear while I'm under there. Its the rear anyway, I'd think they'd rarely need to be changed anyway...at least not anywhere near as often as the front.

nah but seriously i didnt like the way it looked plain jane after sanding and painting... and i bought the brembo stickers for the front it just came with extras (3 small ones) i figured id put them to use and to match up... anywho i like them
it def is the grainy spraypaint for patio furniture... these are my winter wheels as theyre kinda beat up now i get bored pretty quick with the color of my rims and dont have $400 everytime to powdercoat as many times i change rim colors DIY!!! FTW! lol im saving up for vossen 2.2.1 but something always comes up that ill have to dip into the rim fund for example... we had an invasion of termites the other day
had to pony up half with mom smh .. looks like ill have my winter wheels a bit longer on lol as for the actual name its rustoleum aged iron i believe. looks like cement up close lol.

Havent check in here in a while, progress is looking good. I did screw them on but i did not use self tapping screws. I actually drilled and tapped the calipers. Wasn't hard at all. Just gotta be careful and buy extra dill and taps in case one breaks during install. I believe the screws were 10/32-1/2". I mainly did it that way because i didnt feel comfortable with just RTV. I posted pics on page 5 but now i cant see them. I'll try to post pics again.

I had all 4 for a while now lol. Was planning on attacking this SOON. Will the overspray go on the car you think? Did anyone have to clay bar after they painted their calipers? I have gloss black for the calipers.

Duplicolor brush kit ftw. I don't have the RDX covers but I've used that kit twice to paint my calipers.

Sounds like a good idea to me, thank you. I was pretty paranoid, my friend did his purple. Then told me he had lots of over spray on the car, he put lots of news papers. But this looks better.

There is much less variety as far as color goes with the duplicolor brush kit but honestly the prep work is half the battle with a spray can. A lot of taping and everything makes it to much work for me.
The brush kit takes longer to apply with a small brush but I'd rather brush for longer than tape and everything. I know some guys remove the calipers to help avoid getting overspray and to completely paint the caliper. But that also is more work and you'd have to bleed them after. So you have a few options. Just my![2 Cents](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/2cents.gif)
Here's how I did my caliper covers...very satisfied.
