OP thanks for starting this thread these covers look really great. It gives the TL a nice stylish upgrade.
So has anybody screwed these covers on? It seems like there's plenty of material on the calipers to drill some small pilot holes and use small screws. I just don't trust RTV silicone to hold up after time especially with how little contact area there is. With the heat, cold, rain, salt, snow, car washes etc. I'd hate to have them fall off.

MAS screwed his rear covers in with self tapping screws. It's on page 7.
Mine are held on with the RTV silicone and are just fine with all the weather and climate changes they have seen so far.

if you mount them right and cut the top tab off flush on the rears there is no need to actualy ever take them off you can still change pads front and back eas. Even thought there glued to the actual calliper in the front. I honestly yanked on mine like a mother fucker, and they ar solid, and the rtv is pretty good at resisting thermal break down thats why its used for gaskets and stuff, because it's resistant to high heat and quick cooling
cheers

I did this mod this weekend. I didn't feel too confident about attaching the covers only with silicone so i thought i would try to drill & tap the calipers in addition to the silicon. I bought a couple stainless 10/32-1/2" screws and a couple of the drill & taps to do this with (i fully expected to break a couple in the process). I also repainted the entire area because i previously had it all painted silver but i painted the caliper high temp black and high temp clear to match the look of the 6MT Brembos in front. All in all i think it came out great. Below are a couple pics during the process and a before/after comparison as well.
Enjoy the pics. I'll soon post up better pics in my progress thread.
PS----OP, you are a genius, thx much for the thread.![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

So I ended up screwing mine on today also. Sorry no pictures but it's pretty much like the pictures above except I didn't use washers and I painted the screw heads black. I already had the screws so it didn't cost me anything but even if I had to buy some they'd only be a couple bucks.

^I did too J. Just a dab in the center. I actually put the RTV on in a way that there is a small "tab" that comes through the eyelet on the center of the cover. I may be able to take it off but retain the nub...which provides all the support the center will need.

Don't use the self tapping ones get the regular sheet metal screws. The trick is to drill the proper size pilot hole. Too small and the screw could snap off and break, which isn't a huge deal because you can drill it out. But you can feel it when it's too tight. If it feels like your really having to force it. You want it just big enough to have some bite. The other thing I did was to make a drill stop with some tape around the drill bit so I could drill the perfect depth for each hole.
It's not hard to do at all and there's plenty of metal to drill into. Going This this route is less expensive than buying RTV, I know they'll never fall off and I can easily remove them to change pads or if I decide to paint the calipers a different color down the road.

Then put the Brembo sticker on the cover! As boy9enious has shown, there is nothing wrong with doing that ![:O](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/embarrassment.gif)

I'm putting just the Acura "A" logo on my RDX covers when I paint them NBP.

^^^that actually isn't bad, although since it comes done and black and looking good, I'd likely just should have left the ACURA alone on it the way it came.
Austin, I vehemently disagree. I don't think slapping the Brembo sticker on the cover is good. If I were going that route, I'd sharksbreath it out on the back instead.
