They arrived
How does it look
I replaced his signals and side markers to smoke

After seeing how easy was to swap em, I hated my headlights
I was suprised

Yeah they are..
it gives nice feeling to replace 6 years old stuff

took this off from one of BostonSilverTypeS posts
He has 07 TL-S 5AT
with pcd's, sri, shitty tires did 14.5 @ 98mph on a 80degree day

in this video of mine, it comes around 16.4 sec
I will try with tipronic so I could go down to redline (which it hits the vtec after 3rd gear directly)
and with VSA off

swoosh, you got any numbers?
hard to aim at your numbers but...

^^^ Meko thats awesome actually....you do realize that Boston has the ECU right? now i dont know the video which you saw was before the ECU or after but just food for thought....

i havent gotten time to take the video but i sure will....

also, you dont really want to redline....if you see the TL makes peak power at 6400 rpm and then the power starts to drop....so you want to shift right around the 6500 rpm.... and VSA off wont help as you will keep spinning

Yeah I know he does but he didn't mention it at the time he posted about it so I count as no ECU

I just came from the store..

I think it did 15.1 seconds, i timed it
but at start my right tire was on that safety bumpy things on the side of the lane
i don't know what's it called

I i don't know dude, if I hit the redline like at 6.9, then at 3rd gear RPM goes down to 4.9
which hits the intake, much better on a long run

^ 0 to 60
isn't that 6 seconds? times it with the phone
since you can't see the 60mph, i left the pedal right when it was on 60, so we know

Edit: which hits the vtec at 4.9 at 3rd gear

and i watched some MT vidoes of TL guys, i don't know who they are but they have no clue of how to drive stick
how can you let the rpm drop to 5k with manual while shifting dude
on every video with TL, except on some videos
I have no idea seriously
drive AT, it's better

you have to know the exact spot when the clutch bites the gear,
till that moment you gotta tap the gas a little to keep power running
yess have to do these in less than a second

Saturday
Plastidip
Fixing the trunk handle
Replacing license plate LEDs again

Sunday
We all went to washing
3rd roomie Audi is back

2 boards that i wasn't using, used them for license. Only 6 of the leds could fit but that is waaay enough

With flash
difference of black and gunmetal
but during day, gunmetal look darker than I expected
may be because the are is small and can't notice it much

Again,
Gunmetal outer frame and middle section
Black inside the grill, that bottom part
Gunmetal 2 fenders at the bumper

We didn't clean the Bimmer
Dealer will tomorrow

So that's all for this week, I was about to order the gunmetal wheel kit today but some other news came up...we'll see

Thanks everyone...

I didn't take out the bumper
Taping and covering was pain but it paid off.
Left the V frame to the end, that was the hard part. I didn't want to tape the black dip inside the grill and stuff...anyways now looks good at least

Hey Msouza.. what part of MA?
What do you drive now?
Go buy Project_Clean's TL...

Didn't work
I was thinking of swaping my rims with a A-Spec ones but he wanted Type-S rims and I wasn't sure of paying for new tires blah blah

anyways so next is dipping the rims again

I tested the can I used for the grille
instead of Matte gunmetal wheel kit, I will order the Gloss gunmetal

Here are the pictures.
I didn't clean the wheel
Didn't wait 15 min between coats, just sprayed it everywhere

Forget the rims and look at the tire
I black dipped the tire and it came out sick
Look how shiney it is.

I always hated those tire cleaners making the rims black or after it goes away, tire has brownish color blah blah

so found a easy way

How does it look?

Why no to plastidipped wheels?
What I liked about it is that it hides the scratches and gives it a clean look
+ don't have to try keeping them clean

Its just simple gray, not gunmetal like I want but I still want to try GLOSS gunmetal.
Not sure how it will come out. Dip guy doesn't have any videos about it.

swoosh bro, I wasn't sure on the color, looks dark in small areas, that's why tested the left-over can..

How about this?
It's something that I could do..

Really didn't take that long, and wasn't hard at all. Washed them real well, then wet sanded with one of those 320 grit sponges. Washed again. After drying, hit each with two coats of primer. Then 2 light coats of duplicolor graphite wheel coating, with a medium-heavy 3rd coat. Cars so dirty, the pollen is brutal around here.
I think Gloss gunmetal will look better than this...

Paint definitely looks better than plasti-dip on wheels IMO.

But I agree, I'd keep the stockies stock lol and leave the plasti-dip alone. Either that or plasti-dip them black.

I think taking the lugs and center caps off would work better too, EVERYTHING grey didn't look very good at all.

Meko....use plastic dip as a primer and then paint over them.....if you dont like it I THINK you will be still able to peel it off....

but yeah remove the wheels, use some index cards between the wheels and tires and spray em right.....dont just spray while its on the car....

+1 you can do that, the guy in the UA7 squad has done it. He uses plasti-dip then paints over it and if you don't like it, peel it off. The paint adheres to the plasti-dip.

True...
thanks everyone
I'll take that road...

Take em out, use index cards, cover the inner side of the rims and plastidip
+
Paint

To what color? That graphite looks good
