Pics & vid of my Type S competing in AutoX
This weekend I competed in a local AutoX event held by Metro NY Porsche Club at Nassau Coliseum. As far as competing...I didn't do too well. I wasn't up against any Porsches...but, I was put in a class up against Subies and Mazda3s. Anyway, as usual it was tons of fun and next time I'll do better. Here is a video a friend shot & I edited, plus some pics I grabbed from the vid. Enjoy!

Everyone said the track was hard. My first 3 passes were Off Course. A lot of people had the same problem. That's why some of the footage I was moving slow. I took pieces of several passes for the video. But, after the 3rd pass it got a lot easier. I had a total of 10 runs. And, the track was set up mainly for Porsches....so it was fast.

nice vid, but like the other poster said, i have no idea where the track is and would just end up going on and off the course lol. The parking lot looks like there are bumps and cracks everywhere, did that affect the handling?

We were all given a hand drawn map, and were able to walk the course in the morning 1-3x times. That gives you a really good sense of the track. The 1st two runs you just take it slow. Then it gets very easy and you go faster. I had 10 runs that day. The STi's and Porches were flying....only 2 wipeouts. The lot is crappy...no major pot-holes though. By the afternoon there is a lot of rubber laid down by the guys running R-compound tires. The SCCA had a event today but I had to work. I will compete again in 2 weeks.
