Pghpizzaman's SSM progress thread-system install-UPDATED 2/18/14

Hey my name is Brian I'm from Pittsburgh pa I've been modding my cars since I had one. I've wanted a TL for a while and when my wife's Maxima got totaled (with me driving) that was my chance. We picked up an 04 SSM 5AT with navi (broken navi). We got a great deal on it but it is a high mileage car guessing around 200k. We havent told anyone that cause the odometer reads 92,xxx.

I bought the car on march 15th and all that is done to it now was done by mid April, I don't like riding stock in anything so i usually dump a bunch of money into em pretty quick!

I also have to mention this is my wife's daily driver and i only drive her when i have time, so it's not as low as I'D like but she drives it daily so....
But she is letting me lower the front another 1/2 and rear 1/4 and try another alignment

mod list so far:
-F&F type 1's
-19x8.5 stern st 2's et 32
-235/35 rubber
-ebay rear camber kit
-rolled rear fenders
-black metallic roof ( no vinyl for me)
-black matching grille
-smoked tails n sidemarkers 35%
-8k headlights
-cleared headlights
-chrome turnsignal bulbs to match
-interior LED's
-shaved emblems
-painted calipers black
-trunk spoiler
-used OEM radio
-used Navi drive
-bumper plugs
-repainted front bumper
-swaybar endlinks
-factory toe arm

Still waiting on install:

- Aspec front lip
- Isimple with text
- Navtool
- Soundstream 1/2 din DVD w/remote
- JL 12
- Rockford amp
- new windshield w/tint strip

future plans:

-full aspec
-front & rear camber kit
-new leather

I think thats it so here it is, sorry about the pics our good camera is now crap so i've been waiting to get a new one and take pics. That didn't happen yet so these are with my galaxy S2 quick point and shoot, with my kids putting the windows up and down between every pic! enjoy

a couple days old...

I think you and me are the only people on here with Stern ST-2, lol. I have +38 offset, but put 15mm spacers all around. I should have just ordered the +20's to begin with and would have never had to add spacers and extra weight, oh well. Car looks good though, keep it up!

yea i wanted the work wheels (st2s are the knockoffs) but couldn't justify it for 4000. my wife has curbed 3 wheels in 5 weeks so its easier to swallow with these wheels. yea i wish i would have went +38 cause the 32 rubbed in the back and had to roll em. but they do look pretty flush for no spacers.

Be glad you went with the +32, the +38's would have looked hella sunk and you would have had to buy spacers like I did. I was on a budget when modding my TL so I couldn't go all out on rims either. But I don't think I would ever spend 4k for rims a tires. 2k is probably my limit. I don't think I did have bad with the rim and tire combo I have coming in at about 1k.

They stick out too far, LOL! I'm at +23 right now I could only imagine what she would have done to my rims, lol! I have a wedding to pay for, so I'm lucky I was even allowed to mod my car at all.

Welcome to the forums...wow, look forward to whatever you have in store...off to a good start and clearly, you were able to make a neon very fast and show car looking, so you know what you're doing (cause that's no easy feat)!

You might have just convinced me to wrap my grill.

The Aspec kit really sets it off. I'm digging the new stance too! Makes me want to go lower all around. If you threw some spacers on there, it would be $$$!!
