From Non-Navi to Navi just like that....

I've enclosed some photos of the transformation from my Non-Navi TL to a fully functional OEM Navi in my Car. Even though I have an 04, I was able to get an 08 Navi System put in and after the install don't know how I went all these years without it. I also had a rear cam put in, a video converter, and video outputs. Tell me what you guys think, all comments welcome....(big thanks to Martin up in Jersey that helped make this happen)

BEFORE PIC

MY CAR TORN ALL APART (WAS HARD TO SEE THIS, LOL)

THE DISK DRIVE PUT NICELY IN THE TRUNK

NAVI SYSTEM IN

REVERSE CAM

this seems like deja vu for me. Martin did my install in the parking lot of PEP BOYS. this dude is the man he did it in 2.5 hours.... his work is flawless right... the way he wraps everything up and makes sure everything is clean

I've had it for a year now and no problems...(i was skeptical at first because I sent him a massive amount of money through paypal as a gift)

Yup, you got it, I was exactly in that Pep Boys parking lot but unfortunately I was there for 6 hours. But I'm not complaining everything he did was flawless and he fixed some mistakes that others had made when they opened up my dash. I would say it was massive amount of money but worth every penny. I didn't paypal it though, I told him I'd give him the cash once it was done.

It was in jersey city (which can also be the hood in certain areas) I didn't want to walk around with 2 grand in my pocket in jersey city lol. When i got my i simple installed at best they forgot a screw so there were these annoying sounds coming from my dash. Martin found the problem and he had like a million spare screws with him. Did he pull the "i already have this open so do you want me to put in a new filter" lol

Hilarious Bro, he definitely got me with that for another $20 but honestly, that filter was the dirtiest thing I'd ever seen in my life, I didn't even know there was a cabin filter, I was glad he told me about it. The thing about the cash is true, I wanted to give him a Cashier's check but he was like Paypal or Cash and I was like I'm not dropping $2g's as no damn gift on Paypal, lol

You basically only need the disc drive and the white dvd for the drive and you'll be good

I want this so bad! I wish the installer was closer to me. I guess I should pay off the car before evening thinking about doing this...lol. And the pedals are made from a higher quality material and are the original ones. The others are just copies. Well worth $99.

I really want to attempt this. I just wish we had a little more information on how to do it on here, and I wish it was a little cheaper.

you have to have a wiring harness done to convert from non-navi to navi and if you go with the 07-08 system like I did, you have to custom fit the plug and play in order to plug into the screen. I paid to have all this done because I know nothing when it comes to wiring and electronics, but they guy who did mine does flawless work, absolutely perfect

You can control it manually or you can do it by voice control thru the navigation system

Excellent mod. I'd like to upgrade my 05 nav to the 08, but I'm not sure it'd really be worth the money.

just look up acurahondatech on ebay...just search acura tl navigation and you will see he has a bunch of auctions.

he creates the custom harnesses himself so if you think you hare handy enough to do this then just buy his custom harness for $300

he charges $200 for the install which is WELLL WORTH the money

i don't really see a difference between the 05 to 08 navis. Supposedly better screen?

The upper display above the vents? Thats where all the climate control stuff is, correct. And it shows what radio station is playing, etc.

You can swap just the computer in the trunk but then your touch screen will be out of alignment with the buttons on the screen.
The 07-08 computer is $600 and the 07-08 screen is $550.
