New Wheels, Same Old Crappy Pics

Well, at least the headlight reseal and balljoint replacement went well. I still have not a clue as to what's going on with the leaky wheel/tire, and won't have time to investigate until Monday at the earliest with me working 12 hours every day for the next 4 days.
I'm going to try swapping my rear tires to the front and see if my front right starts leaking - if that's the case then its something contacting the tire causing it to debead (highly unlikely).
From there, if no luck identifying the problem, I will likely try swapping one of the new tires onto the wheel that's leaking to see if its the wheel that's the problem, although if it was bent or there was a defect in the are the tire bead sits on, I imagine it would have been obvious when I was getting them mounted, hence why this whole thing is very frustrating.

Wait...if it debeads it goes from 30PSI to flat, right? Is it a slow leak? Check for the little upc stickers...they sometimes put them right on the area where the tires beads and it can cause a problem with leaking.
Worst case, add a little Stan's no tubes sealant from bicycles to it, I bet it'll stop it!
Also, dumb question, but how are your valvestems? Old? Cracked?
I had to fiddle with my suspension to fit the 235's too...messing with balljoints and such. Looks great though, I raised the car up a little.![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)
If those are red stripes they were very LIGHTLY tinted...can't even really tell from the pictures.

They are red stripes - if you look at Thanh's pic thread of my car its very obvious too - when the rear tails arent on they look about as dark as yours. They're just not tinted as heavily as yours so that night visibility is a little better (something Thanh was concerned about when he did them).

Precisely. This whole episode has me rather irritated. Will be dropping the Advans to be powdercoated on Monday, will try and use my summers this winter as much as possible seeing as it looks like we'll have multiple +7 degree days right into January.
Need to order PCDs next week, decided I'm going to go with a race cat welded into the catback so I can run a wideband after the jpipe.

Gotcha...yeah, the lightly done corners were what threw me off...that's why I did tritons for signals on the back, they are bright as heck...plus i have the modifry modules for the sidemarkers.
Who woulda known that look would end up so popular...I literally had a few extra sets of reds and thought, wonder if I could do something cool under the red lens...
had about 5 sets of tails at one point...but settled on the stripes and some black bezel type s and sold all the rest.
Why not mark the wheel with sharpee, have the tire dismounted and see if there's some underlying rust or somethign you can sand smooth?

Iunno, will start diagnosing on Monday, I just don't have time to do it this weekend with my work schedule. I'm happy enough that I managed to get the balljoint swapped in and the headlight resealed this week (the headlight had actually been bothering me for a month now).

Really like the second from the left. Might try to do that with my other set of tails. Although honestly I love the red stripes with ABP. Can't wait for the CSL spoiler to get here. Then the only thing I have left to find in order to completely ape your car is a set of tips like yours haha ![Tongue](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Yeah it does sound like the tire is the culprit - ill get to the bottom of what's going on eventually. I'm going to also get her aligned on Monday just to cover all the potential bases. I doubt the issue is excessive toe but I'm due for an alignment anyway so might as well.
EDIT: Oh and a roof spoiler

Well good lucky trying to find those tips! I get hassled about that all the time and can't help!

Looks awesome brother...
2nd to left were known as the rockstar tails...I think Bruce named them that. Those were my first attempt at trying a different style.

Truth be told I like the way the singles are - they're the right size so it doesn't bother me too much. At this point if I were to start pining for a change in that department I'd go all the way and get myself a Type S rear lip and get quads. I've never seen an ABP TL with Type S quads before so it would be neat to be the first I think.

I'm really loving the silver on the wheels, definitely a lot better fit than the chromium black, which makes me excited to see how the Advans turn out.

Well, thank you, man. I appreciate that.
I agree...originally I liked the trunk spoiler I had. But the more time went on, the more I knew I needed that CSL or nothing...one birthday or christmas Betty was like, make it happen fool. No regrets there.

This reminds me - I need to order center caps and decals for the Advans. I know Evasive has center caps, but the question now is will they ship to Canada lol

Here is the guide, written by the magician of all things fog light / wiring related, GP16: https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...lights-930705/
I actually did them together with Guitarplayer16 when I was up in Ottawa and we literally breezed through it in probably an hour or so.

Oh and funnily enough I think my other front tire started leaking too... so its (very likely) that the "amazing condition" Bridgestones I bought used are actually complete junk lol.

Cosmetically I don't really think I have much to get done to satisfy myself. Like I said, other than the roof spoiler, the major pieces are in place. I was toying with the idea of a carbon fiber Chargespeed front splitter off an STI - I know it can be made to work on the TL with minimal work:
![](https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/acurazine.com-vbulletin/550x367/e5bd7511_ce88_4df0_9605_b41e12eb7d35_96698b4740d43423147180e7c09b2ac84f463841.jpg)
Just to tie in the CSL spoiler when it goes on - I think its just a tad awkward only having 1 carbon piece on the entire car
![Tongue](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
But that's a maybe - far from a priority right now. Next 2 mods are PCDs which still need to be ordered and installing the crank pulley, which I've already had lying around for 2 months.

Very easy install - it doesn't take long but take your time and do it right.

I wouldn't say its VERY easy as thats sort of misleading. Is it HARD? no but its not something a novice can just whip through in a hour lol. gp can do it quick as he's done it many times and knows what to look for.... but I can say my experience wasn't fun nor was it quick. That job was a PITA. trying to feed that wire through the firewall, relocating horn, making sure everything is cut and fits properly all equals PITA hahah.

Didn't really take that long - cleaned the back of the trunk, dried it, heated it up a little, peeled the edges of the 3M tape, positioned it, peeled the rest of the tape, press and hold for like 15 minutes, make sure its nice and snug on there. Heat a little more to promote adhesion while pressing down. Done ![Tongue](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
The clear coat finish on the carbon is excellent - No defects or marring anywhere that I could see. Carbon weave itself is also so damn pretty. I really like the 2x2 more than the JDM weave which is smaller. I'm very impressed with the piece as a whole - I think this might push me to wait it out and get the ATLP roof spoiler in 2x2 Twill as well just so I can match the two.
