Pics are indeed Pearson this morning, was picking up my folks from the airport coming back from vacay.

The caps aren't orange, they're copper

I paint matched them to my copper headlight rings

Seen these in person at a local shop - Hyper silver, for SURE. They look badass in 9.5 fitment - Lots of tasty concave. I'm going back there to get some tires mounted on my parents' vehicles so I'll snap some pics if I get a chance

Yup, Premier Tire. I'll try and find out how much a set is for you.

SimplyTire also carries them, and the price for them is 1100$ + tax.

EDIT: Also I just have the worst luck. It seems the tire shop I went to dun goofed hard - One of the tires they mounted was leaking air from the bead, and I brought it back for them to fix - They used bead sealant and said all is well, and at the time it wasn't leaking air, so I said "OK" and went home. Lo and behold, I'm driving to the grocery store, park, and take a look at my front, and what do I see? A FLAT FUCKING TIRE. Pump it up. Come home. Take it off. Yup, same damn tire. I told them the bead seal was ripped and they should remount it, but noooooo they had to use sealant and say its A OK. Well now I have to go and get the tire remounted for sure, and that probably means I have to re-dip the damn wheel

Was NOT happy when I came home after seeing that, let me tell you.

So I ordered the CSL Spoiler in 2x2 carbon twill. Very excited. Just have a roof spoiler and some paint touch up to do for the exterior and I think I'm done until next year cosmetically

I think you made the right decision going with 2x2 carbon.
If you love the finish on the wheels...plan to budget to have them done in powdercoat in that color. Now that I've had a set done, I can't say enough about how great they look when properly finished.

sweet on the CSL spoiler man! I really like it. Just can't justify shelling that money out when my car needs attn in other areas. I just bought the roof spoiler from OEMBMWSHOP or whatever it is, so we will see how that looks/fits..

What year RL calipers are required for the swap and can you link me to the bracket required as well as rotors? Thanks man

I already thought about that actually - I plan to just ride on the 530s dipped until the spring and then leave them to be powdercoated next season, or potentially get rid of them altogether.

The Advans I'm actually planning on powdercoating in January. After seeing some pictures from SEMA, I settled on gloss black lips and "gt silver" faces. I liked the idea of going with bronze lips but I think that will detract from overall pallet of the car that I'm going for. I honestly want it to be a little understated

So the list of mods that I want to get done before summer is actually pretty narrow now - HFPCs / PCDs, which will definitely be ordered prior to the RV6 holiday sale end, and maybe a roof spoiler. HIC let me know that their roof spoilers will be back on sale tomorrow, and I'm debating on just ordering one now, but at the same time I really like the uninterrupted roof line and slope of the back windshield - I think a roof spoiler will kind of detract from that.

Other than that, I have the lightweight pulley sitting in my room waiting to get installed, and that's about it as far as power-adders for this year after the cats. I'm just going to enjoy the car as much as I can after that and start thinking about what I want to do with the interior. Replacing the factory sound altogether and custom headliner are top on my list

Well I have some stuff to touch up as well, and I think most of you would look at my front bumper and be like "why haven't you had this re-sprayed yet?!?!" I think for me its mostly realizing that its a DD, AND its being driven this winter and probably the next, so the reality is it makes no sense to make the paint perfect on the front bumper, at least not this season.

Maybe in the summer if I have the cash to respray it I will, and at that point I will look at doing a clear-bra, but again, that's all really beyond what I plan with the car. At its core its a DD, not a show car. Taking care of the paint is one thing, but its never going to be perfect on a 10 year old car, short of a complete respray.

As for calipers, its 05+ RL, pretty sure even newer RLs 2010+ are still using the 4 pots on the front. Brackets can be had from Fat Four Customs - http://www.fatfourcustoms.com/newest...7_honda_accord or Fastbrakes, http://www.fastbrakes.com/product_p/accordtsxrl12.6.htm

Dude, I agree entirely. I wanted to go wild...but in the end, I know that I am not one to repeatedly spend $400 for powdercoat and I'd get bored with anything but gunmetal or a classic look. I think that'll look great!

My OCD got the better of me - after dipping the wheel that had to have the tire remounted, the dip bubbled around the lip because of the sheer amount of bead seal the shop used that started to expand out - this meant a 3rd redip for this damn wheel. A rational person would just sigh and say "screw it 4th time's the charm" but for some reason, this just ticked me off so much that I ended up peeling all the wheels and decided I'm going to go get them powdercoated. Got quoted 450$ for the 4 wheels, which is a price I'm ok with since I really do love the 530s. Guess I'm going to have to be more careful with them. Biggest pain in the ass is that its going to take a week or two to get the coating done which means I'll be taking transit like the pleb I am.

EDIT: Make that 5th redip. That would have been the 5th redip. FML.

Still giving you 34.50 for the 530s if you change your mind. Dipped, powdercoated or plebeian factory paint.

Look for a shrink that does sliding scale fees, he can probably help with your OCD for not too expensive.

curious...since you're gonna be paying for dismount/mount anyway...why not get the advan refinished NOW...keep driving on the xxr until they're ready, then have your winter tires swapped over to those. Or are they different sizes?

Just an idea...

I think the lack of sleep/crazy work hours are getting to me lol. This is a much more sensible idea. In all honesty I took a look at the XXRs during my break at work today (pulling a 12 hour shift on no sleep = bad) and I can probably drive on them for the rest of the season without dying inside too much. The lips are a bit of an eye sore but screw it, I really don't want to go through the mounting/dismounting all over again.

The coating place said they're super busy with the winter season anyway and to wait until late December, so I'll probably just put aside the cash to get the Advans refinished properly and let the XXRs soak up the winter driving. What I might do is sand down the lip completely on all 4 of the wheels to make them look at least uniform, and then just clear coat it to get the "polished lip" effect because at the moment I have 2 wheels with completely sanded lips, 1 wheel with like, a tiny bit of sanding and one wheel which is perfect

Sorry I'm just rambling here - The tire shop misadventure seriously frustrated me for some reason (the kind of batshit crazy week at work might have something to do with it )

See, now THAT might be an idea...sand em smooth, then finish them in a glossy or matte clear to protect them. I guess what kinda sparked that thought was that you're spending $450 on powder coating a set of wheels that cost $600 or less (IIRC).

Totally something I'd do. I once lugged a full tower PC case still in box and all halfway across the city on transit and definitely got a lot of "wtf" looks

Found a dude that does powdercoating with pretty fast turn around time, 300$ for everything prep included, and looks to have a decent showing of previous work. Looking at the wheels is definitely driving me crazy, if for no other reason than having seen them silver they look so damn good. So probably going to drop them off this week to get coated, and enjoy being driven around on buses for a bit

The Advans I'm going to take to a big shop around here that does a love of 2 and 3 piece wheels and is probably amongst the best in Toronto. Little bit more expensive, but I know it will get done right

Plus the 530s need a lot less prep since the faces are still perfect, its just the lips that need some TLC.

Also a quick question for you winter driver folks - What tire pressure do you like to run? What would be suitable for 18s? I'm running 35 all around right now, but I know higher pressure in the winter is common.

EDIT: Also my rule for this winter - No driving during heavy snow or after heavy snow while there's still build-up. Going to take it easy on the car, and my own sanity.

I typically run 3-5psi higher on winters than summer tires. My winters are currently at 35 psi.

They're also 15 inch rims on a different car, so YMMV.

OK dropped off the wheels to get powder coated, should be ready next week. Went with a cold silver color that's pretty close to the TL's front grill. Advans will probably be dropped off next week or the week following.

Tire that was leaking had a bead defect, so funnily enough it started leaking AGAIN last night. Good thing I got the tires taken off the wheels today for 20$

Lesson learned, don't buy tires off craigslist.

Because the cost of tire mount/dismount I normally don't bother unless it's to put on NEW tires that will last a long time. Find some crazy deals sometimes!

Well the shop that has done my summers for example costs me 60 bucks for the switch, mounted and balanced, so its not a HUGE expense, but in this case it was definitely a shitty situation mostly brought about by my stupidity. Like I said, lesson learned

I just want my wheels to come back to me so I can start driving the car again. Its been more or less sitting on stands for a week and a half now and its kind of driving me nuts. At the same time its given me incentive to go over and check the suspension, clear coat the rear toe arm so I can protect it from rusting like it did in the previous owner's tenure and anti-seize the coils while I have the chance and no salt and grime has hit the roads yet. I already noticed the coil rings were a little difficult to adjust so the anti-seize is going to be timely.

Also, I figured I'd ask while I'm at it - what do you like to use to wax your wheels J? I haven't waxed anything before but I figured since they're going to come out fresh from the powdercoat, I might as well do it for the winter to cut down on any potential damage.

oh wow, that's not bad at all.

I waxed with collinite 845...same as rest of car. I will say though, it protects but this first time after waxing, the brake dust static stuck to the wheels. I've used something called "wheel wax" before that worked well.

So you're doing them all one color? or was this for the XXR?

For the XXRs. Decided to just go ahead and coat them because I was considering getting other wheels in a similar style and just kind of thought to myself "why? I love the look and if they're my winters I'm not too worried about people giving me XXR comments haha".

I just wasn't that happy with the chromium black, and this whole fiasco just turned out to be the right opportunity to get them to match the theme of the car. The Advans are going to take a little longer to refinish anyway and I have a specific shop I want to do them but they have a slower turn around time, but I've more or less settled on the black and silver idea for them.

EDIT: I should add I've been talking to getyourwheels.com about a set of 19 inch Forgestar F14s in super deep concave, and I might get them towards the summer. I've given up on going crazy with the performance aspect of the car (having realized that after HFPCs and pulley it'll probably be faster than I have any business driving anyway) so I have a bunch of ideas for the spring/summer car show season. Mostly I just want to get hellaflush and that will definitely mean selling my Teins and getting BCs instead, and hellaflush with 19s will be way more drivable than with the 18s.

Selling the teins next summer? I've been meaning to lower that thing, hit me up when you take a decision.

100% selling them man. I love the coils, especially with the type s hats, but I really want the rear to go lower than it already is and its impossible since I'm maxed, and I'm not going to resort to taking off the locking ring just to get like 3 cms lower lol. Plus I want to get stiffer spring rates than standard with the BCs. So I will definitely let you know soon as I have the funds to commit to the BCs. Probably looking at March as of now.

I can't believe you need to go lower than a maxed Tein.
And you buy used tires on craiglist but you're gonna buy a 3rd set of rims?

I mean, I'm not poking fun, just wondering about the direction you're going in.
Also, you might rub less with 19's but you will not find the car more "driveable" than with 18's. I've had both...19's were rough.
