New Tints From Blue Bat And No Longer A Claybar Virgin.

Guys,

I wanted to post some better pics of the new Sidemarker 6/10 tints I got from Blue Batmobile. Basically, I got the 1/2 tints (the ones that do not cover the 2 headlights) to match the 20% tints of my windows. What do you think?

Plus, I'm no longer a claybar virgin. I bought a claybar from Zaino, used it today and put 2 coats of wax and polish on it. Since I've never done claybarring before, it was a very cool experience. Plus, the car's surface is oh so smoooooth !!!

I know you guys don't like badges, but I've gone the opposite direction and actually put MORE Type S badges on the front 1/4 panels above the turn signals. Hey, there aren't very many Type S TL's in Kansas City, so it's kinda fun to stand out. Besides, I think it looks classy.

But look at the metallic sparkle in the sun !!! The Zaino works well, don't you think?

Those look sweet...I'm thinking about getting those instead of clearing/blacking my headlights out. If you don't mind me asking, how much were those overlays?

Doens't your wife ever say, "Steven, when are you going to start acting your age and stop F'n with the new car?"

'Cause I get that ALL the time - every mod.

Overlays look good. Gonna do the Side Markers, Mirror Signals or Tails?

Car looks good too. I am sure that was a full days work.

Car looks good, especially the tinted corners. I gotta say the Type-S badges look WAY out of place IMO, sorry... To each his own

Thanks guys...I appreciate all you comments and input. nim090-the tints were only $22.00 delivered. At this point, I'm not going to tint anything else. I'm kinda partial to the way it looks now. I like the way the tail lights look on the Type S-they've got silver streaks in them, which matches the color of the car. I decided against doing the turn signal because I felt the tint stand out too much and doesn't blend in as well with the car. And Bearcat-YES...my fiance DOES say that-all the time. She thinks I'm "obsessive" with my car....yes, "obsessive" is the word she uses. It was a full days' work, but it was a beautiful day in KC yesterday.

The only interior pics I've got are these 2 below....

The next thing I'm thinking of getting is a carbon fiber interior kit, which will be about $350 or so. I'll know more this week.

By the way, I did see a new post with TL eyelids on a WDP TL. They looked pretty good.

Speedy, I just went to my friendly neighborhood Acura dealership and purchased them there !! It cost me about $39 and you get both the Type S badge along with the "TL" that you have on the trunk of your Type S.

Minifvr-you are right. The claybar experience WAS amazing. The skin of the car was incredible. I've never done this on any car I've owned, so it was really fun. I enjoyed it-plus, I didn't even drop it !!!

Lembowski-thanks for your comments about the shift knob. It's a Momo shifter that I got on EBAY for $88. At first, I thought it was expensive, but WOW-it REALLY makes a difference. The stock shift really didn't look very exciting, so I felt the money was really worth it.

yisrael42, those are $7.00 chrome inlays I found on Ebay. But the Carbon Fiber kit is about 52 pieces, so it will be expensive. The reason I'm considering this is because the Carbon Fiber that comes in the Type S is very dark and you can't really tell it's carbon fiber. That's why I changed my shifter knob-the original one has a carbon fiber inset in it that just didn't look good to me. So this kit trims out most of the interior. I found it a www.nycdashes.com....check it out. There are actually 2 kits. First is the one for the dash and center console and the second one is for the 4 doors.

Fyre Man, I actually do not have my car lowered. It probably looks that way sitting on the grass.

For those of you who are interested in the shift knob, here's the link:

I am, actually. Only flaw is I'm new to this stuff... and haven't took the time to buy the materials I need...
On the bright side, I'm about to start ordering things to finally start my project. All I've done so far was... get a spare headlight and test to see how my eyelid would look like.

Steven Bell, That's ASM right? Damn it's so sparkly! Maybe I should do the same thing as you ... and get my SSM to sparkle in the sun!!

Nice looking car.

I have an SSM TL also, i recently clay barred my car (One section at a time, 4 days haha) and it really made getting rid of fallout an easy job.

Having tint on the front windows here in Michigan is illegal, what percentage do you have on the fronts? looks great.

I like the headlight tints, but I am thinking of doing 100% of the light. In person, is it obvious that they stop halfway?

Nice car. However, I think it would look much better if you move the TypeS badges on the sides and place them under the the side markers instead of on top.

Hey guys...thanks for all the input and posts. To answer a few of your questions:

04Komodo-yes...that is ASM (Alabaster Silver Metallic). And please let me know when you get your materials for the eyelids. Thanks it does sparkle alot-very cool !!!

KzooTL-actually I do not have any tints on the front. It must be the sunlight hitting the windshield just right.

juruki-thanks for the comments on the 2 tone. I got lucky with the color of the car and the matching interior-it's a great combination. The shifter is a Momo shifter from Ebay. Here is the link for it. It costs $88....http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MOMO-...spagenameZWDVW

flydog-yes, the tints do go 1/2 way across the headlight. Blue Batmobile has tints that go across the entire headlight. Andy is great to work with and the tints went on real easily-just make sure to use a hair dryer around the curves. Visit his sight at www.bluebatmobile.net

honda_nut-thanks for your input on the Type S badges on the side-definately a consideration.

or maybe even on the front doors, towards the bottom, and towards the front of the car. maybe with the top of the emblem lined up with the side lip gap between the lip and the car, if that makes sense.

Thanks guys...I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the complete carbon fiber interior trim kit. The fake carbon fiber in the Type S right now is so dark that you can't tell the difference in the threads unless you're in the sunlight. I'm anxious to get it and get it installed in the car. Now THOSE should be some good pics !!!

are you worried that too much CF will look too busy and possibly cheapen the overall look of the car?

Remember that being classy is typically about the subtle details

Here are some examples of what I believe to be overkill...

I tried to post a lot of examples to give you the feeling that it may look cool at first but the more you look at it... it makes you feel differently about it.

^^^^ the blue and silver CF was a one off application, and it is actual CF.

Not sure about the other stuff though. Not a big fan of the stick on stuff that goes everywhere. I would just leave it stock, or try to cover the fake stuff in actual CF.

BackinBlackTL-sometimes it takes a couple of days for Andy to write back. I experienced that too.

yisreal-yes I agree, that is alittle too much. Especially the B pillars with the "TL" at the bottom. I promise not to junk it up. I really appreciate all your insight on this.
