New exhaust; mixed feelings about it...

sup guys

I just got this recently installed, had the stage 2 exhaust mod for a longass time before I decided to further do the mufflers.

Had two Magnaflows installed with these tips.. sound is GREAT, no drone, no buzzing, deep grunty sound from about 1k to 3k and then my intake takes over.

I have having second thoughts though on how it looks.. it just doesn't seem right to me even though from the back it looks okay, but from the side does it look like it sticks out too far?

Any suggestions?

Btw it was only 350$ for parts and labor.

I think your car/exhaust look just fine. The tips don't stick out too far at all.

it might be that I don't have a-spec yet.. but that is next. I guess it's a first for me to see aftermarket exhaust on a non aspec rear end

You know what, I just realized u dont have the aspec kit. The only thing I dont like is how you see the canister and it's not polished so it kinda takes away from the look. Should look sexy with the ASpec rear thouh

yea i dont mind it all, looks good...looks similar to a TSX's, but slightly larger, when you get the rear A-Spec it will help set it off!

I like the look...not too big but still not stock looking. Agree with everyone else though, once you get the a-spec it will look alot better

it's the ole adage...can't fit a round peg in a square hole. That's what's wrong with the look. to some its ok but i'm not a big fan.

that being said...you CAN fit 2 round pegs in one square hole...like the type-s exhaust.

get some bbq grill spray paint at the local hardware store (its heat resistant) paint the muffler, cover the tips while you spray of course, if will make the bottom of the muffler disappear

then definitely get yourself that aspec rear lip, like how the tips look

I like them, but spray the mufflers flat black.

weld the oem tips... i'd get staggard dual tips like type-s.... its because of the overall design of the tl that makes the tips out of place...

Hey bro. I don't think it looks bad at all. I think what would help you is an A-Spec kit to tone the exhausts down. I think this will take away from all the attraction. I'm sure adding the A-Spec will add a new taste to it. Thats the only problem IC.

I might be biased, because I absolutely love the stop tips, but I see no problem with these tips. Like everyone's been saying, get the A-spec rear.

I don't know if it's just the angle of the shot, but are the tips centered on the can itself or is it offset? The rear shot looks like the cans are shifted closer together towards the middle, kinda like a squeezed butt look lol.

yes it is not centered, the can itself is round, not oval like many others. I guess i'm just going to spraypaint them flat black and then get the aspec kit asap..

Don't worry about sprayin man. Just get the A-Spec and I'm sure you'll think entirely different. The tips are sweet. It's tastefully done and I'd personally have no issues rocking a muffler setup that looked like yours. Painting the exhaust black might be an option if it still shows from the A-Spec but I don't think it will. Test it out and show some pics man. Can't wait to see.

I suggested to paint the muffler body... leaving the tips, as is... cuz it appears that they angled the mufflers in /o/---\o\ <- if that makes sense

I think the square stock tips or quad tips are the only way to go. I don't like big canisters personally.

This is similar to what I have, except I went from the shorter tips to the longer ones because I thought it looked off seeing the front end of the tip from the side. I also used the straight cut tip.

So that I could put the mufflers in straight instead of on an angle like the stockers, I put the centers in the front and the offsets in the rear.

I wanted something unique, so I don't mind the round peg in a square hole.
