New camera = car photos!

I just picked up a new Canon Rebel XSi this past week, and couldn't wait for my next detail job, so my TLS got to be the test mule! These shots were after a quick wash with 1Z Perls, and wipe down with OID.

I'm learning more each day, and look forward to the photos I'll be taking soon.

Enjoy:

If you didn't see the windshield wipers, you'd think this was just a shot of the ceiling!

Gotta love the metallic blue flake in Nighthawk Black Pearl:

This one is a bit overexposed at the front, but I still like this shot

This was BEFORE washing!

This one did a great job of capturing the blue that was still in the western sky in the early evening

10pm, and still a lot of light in the evening sky

My son getting into a "ghost shot"

Parking lot shots:

Thanks guys! And yes, I am having a lot of fun with the new camera.

The ghost photo was set for a 30 second exposure. I had my son run into the photo for about a second, and run back out.

very nice! That first shot got me too until I actually read what you type.lol
Your car is real CLEAN though. I washed mine today and just kept finding rock chips. I figure 2 more years and then new paint is a must.

Thanks everybody. Detailing has become quite a passion for me, and photography will as well. I appreciate all of the kind comments.

All of the polishing on this in the past has been done via PC, but I now have a rotary as well. The last time I polished the TL was either late April or early May. With the rotary and 3M Ultrafina SE, I should be able to achieve a better level of jeweling of the finish.

Yea all i have to say is wow. That has to be 10x cleaner and shinier than any car that comes straight off the dealer lot. Oh and the ghost shot is pretty sweet...kinda creepy though! How much do you charge for a full detail? That might be worth a little 2 hour drive for me! lol

Thanks!

I only wish these two products were responsible for making it look like this! I did a full polish in the spring with OPS to clean it up from the winter. I just do my best to maintain it very well so that even after a quick wash and a shot of Optimum Instant Detailer it will look great.

If I'm not mistaken, Excel sells Optimum products. Go over to the Wash & Wax section of the forum and get his info.

I also really like the parking lot shots! Great job!

I find the reflections of your garage (kids toys and stuff) a little distracting - they take away from the beauty of the car in my opinion.

I am a professional photographer with a kick-ass studio and a 22mpix Hasselblad. I have just joined the forum and can't wait to find time to shoot and post shots of my TL. Will have to get my hands on some of this Poliseal stuff first!!!
