NBP TL w/ Gunmetal Motegi ff7's

Hey there A'ziners. Been lurking around for a little bit trying to figure how to do this and that to my car and figured I might as well post some pictures of my car and tell a little about myself.

No, I'm not a rich 16 yr old who could afford a TL. I actually wanted an rsx type-s, but couldn't find a decent one. Came home one day to find a stock used 2004 TL in the garage . It's not what I wanted but hey, any car is good, and I'm only young. Motegi's were bought by parents because previous owner curb rashed all 4 wheels...terribly. All future mods will now be on me.

Well on to the pictures lol.

IMO, pictures don't do justice at all, but here is what it looks like. Comments and suggestions greatly appreciated Any a'ziners from the 409 area?

Thanks ballin! Your ride is hot!

Carlos, yea I'm planning on selling the rims later on and gettin some 19 or 20" 5 spoke rims.

I was thinking about the TSW Thruxton but I'm worried the spokes might be a little narrow...

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...4.3&vid=008463

Oh well, that isn't til later on in another half a year or so.

Yea those wheels would be sweet!!!!! I think another member has those on his TL, you should check it out so you can see what it would look like on the car. I actually have had mine since 2005 and I loved the stock wheels and swore up and down I would never get aftermarket wheels and look at me now. I got some 19" MOMOs back in February 2008, they look good on the car but sometimes I think I should have just gotten the really low profile tires on my stock wheels and that would have made my car look really good too.

I've been trying to find a TL with those rims around the forum but had no luck. Bummer

That would be nice, but I think the stock rims are too small. And having the smallest profiles on it would mess with the speedometer.

What did you do with the stock rims?

and to mink, LOL, who wouldn't want a GTR in their garage?

What did you do with the stock rims? [QUOTE]

I got $300 for them, which was applied as a credit on the price of my new wheels, my stocks were in excellent condition, no curb rash whatsoever, I know I could have gotten more if I would have listed them on ebay or craigslist but to be honest with you I didn't want to go thru the hassle. The tire thread left on them was reasonable also, oh well.

Check out our latest photshoot...I think there is a white TL in this one that has similar wheels to the ones you want. They aren't the deep dish but they are still similar. My car was in this photshoot also. Let me know what you think about the wheels.

If I were you I would keep those wheels, get like a 5mm spacer on all 4 corners and get 245/40-18 tires, with the neuspeed springs drop, you will look money, my wheels don't look small because the spacer allows them to be flush with the fender

Wow, those are pretty nice. On a second thought, I might go with StillHere's idea and see how it will go from there. Nice car btw

StillHere153, thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep that in mind. If it's ok if you can post a link where I can get the spacers from if it's not on the forum?

Lol, I didn't know. Red is my favorite color so that's why I chosed it. Thanks for the fyi

To TylerT and cbptls, I could never get over how the rsx-s looks (referring to the +05 models) :shrugs: Something about it just makes me want it.

I MIGHT do a photoshoot with my cousin's prelude later on today so heads up.

Ok I lied, it took me a while to get the pictures lol. I've been stuck with school and lazy, but here are the pictures. Fronts have near 2 finger gap while the rear have about 1 finger gap. Pictures might not look like it though.

Camera Pictures....I love parking next to other TL's lol

Well, tint is coming up next with 35% sides with some dark ass tint in the rear, i forgot percentage. Then p2r throttle body spacer and over summer, piece together a full aspec lip kit.

congrats. I think 02Type-S (a member here) has Thruxtons on his TL, but it's a 2g.

If you want nice, but cheap mods, do a debadge, and paint your grille except the A black. Loks 1x better.

Well, it might not have been the one you really wanted. For a 16 you are pretty damn lucky. My first car was used 1981 Chevy Citation( piece of s**t). welcome to the family.

Yes, I am lucky. Thanks for the greetings and can't wait to meet some A'ziners soon. Most likely in the Houston area since no one down here really does things to their car (that's not ricer-ish)

haha typo. 10x better.

The 721s in black are sex, and 451 would be nice for a VIP look.

DO i own a TL? I WISH. The description of Acurazine said Acura owners and enthusiasts, so i considered myself eligible. I don't even have a license lol. 4 months...

Nice progress!

I feel you on not wanting to be hated because you are young and have a nice car. I'm 19 and I've had 3 cars. I pay for all of them, but people just hear that and freak out. It's very respectable how you don't think you are the shit because you whip around a TL.

Like others have said, painting the grill and a de-badge would look sweet! I de-badged mine and my friends are all up on me now to do theirs too. I love getting rims and shit that make it really really pop out, but the little inexpensive things I really like because I end up doing them myself and it makes me even more proud.

The tint will look sick! You said 35% in the front and dark as hell in the back? Must be 5% you are talking about on the back...that limo tint shit. My friend (who's filthy rich) has had 10 cars or so and all of them have had 5% all around and the whole windshield tinted 35%. I'm not ballsy enough to do that shit. I don't want tint tickets haha.

I want the A-Spec kit badly. Did you just get the front and that's it? Or do you plan getting the rest of it at a later date?

Keep up the good work! The car looks great. Don't let the haters get you down just because you are young and have a TL. I get that shit all of the time, esp from people I work with. They are just jealous. Keep it pimpin pimpin!

I have the whole kit, I just didn't bother updating it. Since the last time I updated, I added RV6 J-Pipe and test Pipe, Koni SP3 shocks and lowest perches, color matched my headlight housing, and a AEM intake.
