Modifying a S2000 front Mugen Lip/Splitter to work with the o4-o6 front A-Spec.
Had plans back then to do something similar [but from scratch]. Decided to go a different route...
I was browsing at S2000s one day and noticed the Mugen splitter looked like my drawing... [or vice versa].
So, decided to scrape the idea of making it from scratch and buy a S2000 Mugen Splitter and work with that instead.

Just got the Mugen Splitter Monday morning... Would've been Friday noon but UPS is gay and likes to leave notices on my door without bothering to ring the door bell or knock on the door.
I have a busy schedule... but all my "free time" goes to the TL anyway.
Will try to remember to take 'progress pics' and keep this thread updated.

I hope it will!
Thanks! Hopefully I don't forget...![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)
In my head and on paper it does look cool...
I just hope it doesn't look as odd as the "HD-R Lip" on the o4-o6 A-Spec.
Oh, I have one or two more things planned for the TL!![Too Cool](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/toocool.gif)
Custom TL-S Rear Diffuser... I drew a mock-up the same time I drew the front A-Spec Splitter mock-up.
Have a look:

I'm more than likely going to have to make that from scratch... -yikes-
Hope you two have enough!![Tongue](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Ohs. Looks like I'll have to update for sure now![Roll Eyes](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
It's going to take time [something I don't have too much of
] so hopefully I can get it completed![Too Cool](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/toocool.gif)
Thanks! It actually won't be on the car for a while after I'm done [if I am done].
I plan to get it wrapped in CF.. along with the A-Spec.
I don't know about "trend setter" but that's a nice thought.
Thanks!
Interesting indeed, my friend!
But so far--not as interesting as those wheels of yours. They're gorgeous!
I don't know about 'skills'... but hahah, thanks!
I think I can get it to work, though.
Thanks! I wish I could have more time to work on it. I've been thinking about this for a long while now too.
Haha... I know. I don't really like teasers... that's why I thought I'd post a few more pictures.
But... at the same time I couldn't help but make this thread.
Thanks! Hopefully I don't forget...

If people are interested I could have a cf company I know of to produce several of them. I was thinking of going with them if I couldn't make it myself

Can't say anything about numbers as I haven't asked them.. and mods will get angry.
SOOOO was planning to start on the project... but then landlord is in my apartment. Turns out my dirty-slob-of-a-house-mate [shared apartment] moved out. Sweetness.
So I helped the landlord clean up the place. Hmn.. still have time left in the day.

oooh the front looks like it fits, but the sides will need to get extended? Thats just by looking at the pics.. Great idea!
I have also been looking for a front lip for our aspec cars.. but Ive been looking at the euro guys because they have all kinds of crazy front lips for their cars..

The lip is different from what I had in mind.. but I'll worry about that when the time comes.
I've been wanting to do this for a very long time.. I just never had my front a-spec to mess with.
I was going to go with a similar route as you are but not to that extent.
My original plan [which I worked on for a day] was to draw a template on to cardboard.. then transfer the template over to a foam-core. Then from that foam-core and template I would start getting it to the shape I wanted. Then from that I start glassing over the foam core.
Except... I stopped after a day. I came down to that it would have been too time consuming [which is something I don't have too much of].

Well,
Started working on this about two days ago and forgot to upload.
Finished work. Went straight home. Got home at 10:30 and worked on it for a bit.
Made some measurements...
The Mugen splitter was roughly 66" while the A-Spec was roughly 72" or something of that number [I forgot].
I aligned the centers together and made my adjustments.
From there I chopped off part of the sides of the splitter... and aligned things again.
At that point I realized that my roommate who had moved out took half my tools I left in the apartment. FML.
So... I called it a night and taped the lip and splitter together.
This was the result:

![](http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww68/nguyenxdanny/Projects/03052010019.jpg)
![](http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww68/nguyenxdanny/Projects/03052010017.jpg)
The next day I tried to figure out what to do with the side pieces of the Mugen splitter. I figured I was going to use it... but then after lining that up I realized it looked weird.

I suppose I'll just fabricate my own.
Sooo, today, I borrowed my friend's father's drill. Except my buddy is an idiot and didn't know what a drill bit is... he gave me a power-drill with a large metal-disc attached to it. Then when I told him what to give me.. he gave me a drill bit that measures about 30cm long. wthell? After several face-palms I gave up with him and took what I was given.
I attached the lip and the splitter together and took off the tape.
[N97 pics]

(Notice the huge drill-bit.
Disregard my knives...)

![](http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww68/nguyenxdanny/Projects/05052010026.jpg)
And that's as far as I got so far... Next up is fabricating the side of the splitter to extend it... then adding the part that goes up [like the ARC splitters].
Don't know if it's just me... but the splitter looks a little odd at angles. But at other angles it looks pretty darn awesome.
