Almost looks like she hit that concrete protrusion a couple feet to the right of the car in the first pic. I can see that thing doing some damage, and it'd be hard to see at night if you're not paying attention.

Well the tow truck guy had no option by the looks of it anyway. SOme things you just have to clench your teeth. Anyway looks like your lower control arm doesnt like you too much. If its the second time 1. check the work where you get your car done. 2. Tell her to slow down. Make sure the cotter pins are back in and take pictures where it disassembled.

It is hard to believe a pothole caused that damage. I would expect the car to be pulled out of a sink hole with that kind of damage. Someone mentioned that concrete protrusion in the first pic. It sure looks like that concrete would do that kind of damage. What the heck is that thing for anyways. The owner of that parking lot should be liable for that kind of thing.

I'm thinking that block on the ground to the left had something to do with it. A) There's a hole in the cement block for a sign of sorts. B) The sign is missing. C) There's scrapes on the bumper and fender....from the sign? D) She probably wouldn't have been able to drive into a parking lot after that damage.
I say you ask her for the real story!

I guess that's what happens when you don't notice anything on the road. I wouldn't inhert anything, without it being looked at by a certified mechanic and lets you know about anything else pending from such a heavy hit. Ive been a technician for 7 years and the worse ive seen is blown alignments with cracked rims, possible slightly bent lower control arm. Ive never seen the whole arm assembly break off, she must have not been paying any bit of attention and hit a massive hole at a high rate of speed.
You can do much damage to the subframe and craddle. As stated, I would have a certified technican fully evaluate the entire underbody for stress cracks, play ect.
