Yeah....don't see too many 3G TLs around...mostly UA6 and UA7 autos...some TL-S and even less TL-S 6MT....i'm on a local KC TL facebook page but I don't do facebook much at all so not really in the "scene" so to speak.
Loooot of them are young kids seems like....doing typical young kid mods.....and spending basically entire paycheck to help fund the next mod or repair....
I've been pretty low key so far....life with work and whatnot is busy.....and I'm looking to get a new desktop build also so....that's been more taking my time.
Weather is FINALLY sunny and nice here....gonna be looking into getting mine nicely done. She definitely needs some TLC (looks good from afar...but some thigns need addressed to really make it "clean").
Still looking around for a really high quality painter to get the bumpers and hood redone/blended well and then some interior bits also...then it'd defintiely be really clean example for sure
I heard you, same here I don't attend local UA meet nor anything like that. I got local car and coffee about 3/4 mile away from where I live lol. Its hard to find owner that taking care of their UA6/7, mostly youngster doing some dumb mod. About the refresh and clean up, someone decided make me redo the entire front section of my KBP
NBP is stunning after paint correction, but it only clean for 20 mins after initial wash. anytime longer than that is a dust magnet. I owned about 4-5 Honda NBP by now lol.
Yeah, it's been raining a lot lately and today is the first day i'm free to wash mine. I ran a finger across it and I've never seen so much dust before lol still, worth it for those late night gas station pics
never looked so good though...
and go to the meets...someone needs to guide the young bucs
Except these young bucs talk like they knew everything, oh blah blah I seen this on IG, Tik Tok etc.... Yet most of these bucs can't even change brake pads. Some guy was ripping these young bucs selling Type S A Spec front lip for $650. Meanwhile your local dealer has it for $321 and yet these bucs praising the guy how much legit the seller was and he "hooked them up". Obviously they get upset when I told them the lip could be purchase dealer for $321 or roughly about $380 if you have it shipped.

That blue flakes looks stunning under the sun tho.

Hence why I'm rarely around many car "enthusiasts" my age. Funny enough I've been browsing FB MP lately for A-Spec lips and was baffled to see them selling for 600-800 just for a front lip. Comical to say the least lol
Not to beat an already beaten to death topic, but A-spec kits are nearly discontinued. Anyone interested enough in an A-spec kit (mostly front or rear lips) and are able to obtain one at a dealer, then kuddos to them. At some point (possibly sooner than later) dealerships will no longer carry these kits. Can't blame the guys selling them for more money since the demand on the kit is very high but the truth of the matter is, money talks. What would be comical is if the 3rd gen TL owners looked into prices for carbon fiber parts on other vehicles. That front lip at $600 isn't all that terrible when a front carbon fiber lip is north of 2K. .. Don't ask me how I know this, but I know this.

I agree. Still, bit much for it IMO. I am one of the lucky ones where I work for a dealership group that includes Acura and I can pick one up for around $275. However maintenance takes priority, so I can not have any fun atm lol

of course...but this also means that those cars that HAVE the lip kits (AND are well maintained/or repainted and re done well)....also could mean good value for re-sale down the road.
TL-S 6MT already rare....and those ones WITH good/well-kept lip kits (plus the wheels?)....definitely potential future semi-gem and can keep some value....obviously not gonna be like a Ferraro 250 but definitely will have diff depreciating/appreciating curve compared to the other 3G TLs....

Fact!!! this is why I can't own a German machine lol. But seriously I learn this lesson with my 6G Accord coupe when they introduce HFP back in 98.

I agreed on maint over mod, however if the front lip still available now why not get it and let it sit there so when you are ready then just install it.

Someone was offered my friend $2500 for the entire Aspec kit painted in MRP.
I love you too
$2500 for aspec kit is insane but hey...
HFP...dude I remember they were clearing out the ones for the EP3...
I paid $1100 for the entire HFP kit for mine INCLUDING the wheels.
What a steal!

But let them young bucks telling you how much the OP of those sale post "hook them up" I just laugh everytime.
So last weekend I decided to shuffle the car around, go to the gas station 6 times to top off everything was fun..... NOT. At this point I don't know that the enthusiast or I am being idiot to own all of the 3G TL.
The wife said, eww I don't want to go back to Base TL no more, RIP my MRP The battery death 100% after being left in the garage for 4 months, I already got an Audew jumpstart lol.
I end up take it out for a week as daily... Dirty but clean
Epic pictures of all differences trans and trims ever offered on a 3G TL.

Dude, you're starting your own TL museum. Pretty sure we're going to have to start paying price of admission to look at your cars in person from now on.

wait until you see the OEM part pile, Tim know me by name now every time I called in to adjust the order.

Wife has good taste.
I tried to find a Type S MT back then but never found one that I wanted so she settle with a Base.

Yeah I thought about it. Imma order some new engine mounts first then I guess I can fork over the couple hundred to have it. Just replaced valve cover gaskets and did a valve adjustment this past weekend; putting new shifter cable bushings in this weekend then calling it a wrap on maintenance for rn. lol
If I may...engine mounts and valve cover gaskets will always be available.
Don't wait on something discontinued.
You are correct. I'm just very particular about how my car runs/drives. But the more I look at A-Spec stuff day by day I see stores running out of stock, so. Perhaps I'll treat myself to a front lip this upcoming week.
I'm with you on that, I'm all about maintenance but time is of the essence.
Unless it's not a must have but honestly, aspec changes the look of the car drastically.
It's a must have for the 3G IMO.

It is most definitely a must have. The car looks rather "basey" without it IMO, so. Fuck it, we're going A-Spec lol
first time I saw one in person was with my Mom's ex...NBP, 2004, aspec all around including spoiler and wheels...this was December 2003...
fell in love and after that I couldn't really get behind the look of the car without the kit.
I would at least get a front lip for now, unless you want to pay $800 for a front lip later on. I kind kick myself in the gut for not getting these Type S kit when they had $750 for entire kit shipped to your door, why do you think I am hoarding those A spec piece now?
I am agree with RS, Aspec lip change the way these car looks drastically especially the Type S one. I remember drooling over a (brand new at the time) 05 SSM display at my local Acura dealer with Ebony interior, MT navi with full Aspec options, full lip, wheel, window visor, steering whee, spoilerl and suspension. the final price tag was $40,XXX
Yeah, I called my dealer and they said they have some sort of “underbody lip” for sale but doesn’t specify if it’s a spec or not. Does the part number 08F01-SEP-240B ring a bell for the desired one?

Just placed an order for it, will have it here next week. Already painted and everything for only $250 probably won’t be installed for a while but at least I have it lol

that's a killer deal...
find the rear asap...sides i feel like you can get by without...they finish the look but you don't really notice if you don't have them

Unless you know what to look for most general population won't know the differences between Aspec and Type S since it already flared. The rear lip is a must as it also change the rear looks of the car oh and be ready to pay for one that used to, the best bet is checking in your local pull a part salvage yard or you are looking at $500 - $850 for a used rear Type S lip.
Yeah I'm just going to hold onto it until i find a rear lip. I've generally looked on FB marketplace and haven't found any in my color yet. I also don't trust ebay or these aftermarket ones due to fitment issues. The side skirts I'm not worried about, as y'all said it's already flared from the factory and won't make much diff. Maybe I'll add some low profile splitters all the way around later if I feel like it; only problem with that is I don't feel like scraping the hell out of them lol i already plan to drop the car 1'
