I trust Truong and the car. It will be just fine.
I want to spend a bit of time with the car, so driving it home is perfect. I don’t trust vehicle shippers, not do I want to wait weeks to get the car through shipping.
Gas will be $288 @ $3.60/gal. Food is $150. I’ll sleep in the car 3-5 hours a night.
If I could spend the night in the MDX in front of a dealership to be first in line for my 88k 6MT type-S, I won’t mind sleeping in the TL.

I love to drive! Once drove from the southernmost tip of Greece to Serbia nonstop for 24 hours! Avoided Albania entirely because of this video:
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2wtqi3
I kept laughing my ass off and saying “Theres always, Albania!” as my best friend and I drove around it.
It should be a charming drive back I once rode through Texas to the Katrina effort in 2005/2006.
When I was flying back I had a stop in Houston. The massive airport was Completely empty!! Had to take a monorail to my terminal. As I was landing to the Houston airport to my left, all roads were white headlights, to my right All roads were red taillights.
Everyone was scrambling out of Houston away from the gulf because they were about to have a hurricane and thought the same would happen there that happened in New Orleans.

I don’t blame you for wanting to come see it in person. I would never buy a used car without looking at it. This grandma was trying to sell a vehicle to my parents a long time ago. I told them not to buy it because I’ve seen the same vehicle driving around town by a bunch of teens with Rockford Fosgate stickers on it.

I had one of those sammiches today and it definitely does not give the same energy I get from my standard diet, but it will have to do.
I will need caffeine aswell, so starbucks(drip coffees because I’m cheap) and redbull.
I won’t even have time to stop at Costco to stock up. But perhaps if I do one Costco run and spend 1-2 hours. I’ll save time by not stopping extra times for sammiches.

I plan to buy a donor TL late this year and chop it to pieces. Store the parts(including body panels) in the attic and crawl space.
Could I then technically say I owned 5 TLs? This way Truong cant buy another TL and tie me, right? Because I’d have five 3G car titles.
Just thinking ahead..

So small update, finally I got time to install the CF steering wheel to the KBP the original wheel are base and I had to swap the Type S control buttons over. FYI 07-08 has SMD LED build into the board itself so don't even bother looking for T3 neo wedge bulb replacement.
I got to install it before I get yelled by @sockr1 again....
This is how it came in the mail, Base TL audio button are black where Type S is silver. Also if i didn't swap Type S over the button will lit up as white at night.
During the madness.
I tried to mark and line up with the new steering wheel, first test drive turn out too be "too much to the left". Well here I am rip apart the steering wheel again and try it for the 2nd time and it drive straight like it suppose to be. Yes I am wearing flip flop driving the MT.
Once done I take advantage of the weather for a photo shoot in direct sunlight.
Night shot of the steering wheel
Saturday, I end up washing both WDP as I haven't wash them since last year....
Yuck
All done.
and for those who never see the WDP....

I hope everyone had a good holiday and happy new year, I tried to do some upgrade/ maint on the blue turd but the weather isn't cooperating with me. Working on car in the cold meh, I am too old for this. I had to fix my Legend on a dirty driveway with temp around 20 degrees during New England winter time and those days are long gone.
I was take the brake caliper apart and rebuilding them only to find the rear piston are toasted. I am gonna get new caliper instead of rebuild route, the brake still working good nothing abnormal and this isn't my daily.
From experience, don't mess with the piston unless you already got replacement one. I guess 2007-2014 owned in NJ, VA really did this car dirty, mine MRP spend 2007-2013 in CT isn't anywhere near this bad.
Now its time to address those motor actuator being crazy lol, every TL problem. Don't worry I still have like 6 pairs of new actuator in stock.
I am one of those guy "while you in there" also replaced the infamous brown mirror that plague these TL.
There are the part number for left and right one if anyone curious.
Time to address the TL classic interior problem. I bought all OEM bulb for the entire interior as LED was too bright (even after I applied white paint over the LED).
I was puzzled by the white connector that wrapped in blue tape, @04WDPSeDaN point out its for auto trans to lit up the PRND. I should notice this
You mess with me blue turd? I am gona rip you apart also took the cluster apart and clean the inside lenses and gauge face some how I got dirt trap in there.
The most time consuming work, buffing out trims that has scratch over time. The picture is the before the buff.
Now lets deal with those pesky navi lights, I highly recommended replace one bulbs at a time to prevent a mix up. Seem like a rookie mistake but if you are in the 5th/6th hour for the job. Those stupid mistake will be made.
Meh cabin air filter still good for another 100k miles right? According to previous owner document provided Honda dealer replaced back in Sept 2019. My TL spend majority of time in my garage but no worry as I am in no shortage of cabin air filter.
I can see at night lol.
Looks at those trims reflection.
I install the optional faux CF trim for the rear AC vents and cup holder.
I decide to fix the cup holder lid permanent even tho I still have two brand new OEM cup holder assy.
Buy a 6spd TL its will be fun they said.... Welcome to Houston typical traffic hour.
The rear seat cover replacement came in, I am still awaiting for the front passenger to come in as the entire interior will be redone.
Picture taken on Dec 31 2021, after I washed both TL and put them back in the garage. I just took the Blue turd out for a spin yesterday and the red remain in the same spot.
Before someone asked about the shelves in the back that match color of each car, I assure you this is TOTALLY coincidence.

Good shit brotha!
If you need some pointers with the seat covers, just call me. I'd suggest using zip ties instead of the hog rings. The back seat is loaded with hog rings..

Auto Custom Leathers in MA, word of advise don't be thinking paying for a product and getting them within a month or two. Long story short, I ordered and paid in full on March 2021. I am still missing the passenger seat, drive back piece and center console arm rest.
Before anyone said something, I called and email bi-weekly...

A small but big update.
The interior of this blue is beyond saving upon my ownership, I order entire set of seat cover replacement and that include the center arm rest as well. The head liner has typical TL droop syndrome, that got addressed as well. Needless to say the seat bucket actually hold me in place now instead of sliding around, and the smell of new leather.
After this, I need to find time to send the Aspec side skirts to paint shop to match KBP and install on the car. Once that happen I will have Aspec badge put on the trunk. The project is almost complete...
Here are pics and I hope you all enjoy.
Before
Notice that big hole on the driver seat.
The passenger seat starting to rip apart as well.
rear seat isn't in much better condition, I stop conditioning the seat long time ago.
The infamous TL headliner drooping syndrome.
After
Seat cover replacement along with center console armrest, headliner has reupholster. Seat bolster actually firm and hold me in place now. Color and hole pattern is close as OEM factory cover you can get.
no more sagging headliner
Took the car to work on Friday and the road was almost empty.
MPG is a mixed of city and highway driving, I have my climate control on 66 degrees on auto setting at all time lol.
Just washed the blue and my daily. The KBP ready to go back inside garage.

Yeah I had rear Type S lip listed at $250 and they all flocked like crazy
Its not about cheap to buy a new dash. I am not paying $3k for it ready to crack anytime after a year or so (as they all prone to crack), beside that money will be well spend else where lol
