My Grill Mod...
Got bored with my stock grill so I decided to cut it up. Let me know what you think...good or bad.
This is the only pic I took during the whole project.
And this is the finished product..
Thanks to fellow Aziners dave_ramkumar and mmade22 for their advice

Looks good and I bet you spent less than the eBay/Hong Kong drop-in grill.
How is the mesh held in place, and is there any kind of bar or plate at the top (where the engine cover would pin to)? Can you get to the hood release?

Thanks. I try to keep a simple set up. I'm thinking about adding a badge in there somewhere but I'm still not sure yet.
I did it in 2 separate weekends. A lot of time was spent sitting around waiting for the fiberglass, primer, and coats of paint to dry.

LasVegasTL,
I am wanting to do mine soon, the correct way. I will be using fiberglass to fill-in those two voids where the center-bar was cut away.
What did you use to provide support where the void is... before you applied the fiberglass? Like shown in pic below.

I used a couple of mixing boards. Bondo makes them also. I just cut out two small pieces and put them behind the holes and glued them using plastic weld.

Would you like to tackle this together? I've been wanting to do this mod.

Video it?! Yikes that would be a long video. There is a really well-written How-To posted about this, with tons of pictures. It doesn't look difficult but definitely time consuming. A lot of waiting for drying time.

I might add some sort of emblem or badge to the grill. Still thinking about it.
