Modified my headlights

the first mod to my wifes new car. i baked the headlights and took out the orange. then i painted the chrome with that black chrome shadow stuff. she wants some angel eyes so ill have to do that when i get some. but what do you guys think? not really good pictures and im sure plenty of people have done this but i need the silly 5 posts and i didnt want to go make irrelevant posts on peoples threads.

Looks great. But I wouldn't be able to deal with the lack of turn signal illumination without a diffuser and lessened reflectivity of the turn signal housing.

thanks. i dont mind the reflection part too much. its actually black chrome so it still is a bit more reflective than black would be. it does need some more color in it somewhere though. and some kind of turn signal bulb that looks good.

yeah, i wanted switchbacks but do they work without rewiring stuff? the bulbs say they work on some cars but some have to be rewired or something

You need resistors to equalize the load, as the LEDs on the switchbacks draw less power.
6ohm, 50W resistors.

Yea i made that mistake and now looking to re-do mine with clear diffusers. even with switchbacks its impossible to see my turn signals during the day

i used the duplicolor shadow paint. i dont like duplicolor but they have some cool paint. the paint sucks really. your supposed to paint over the chrome and it tints it to a black chrome but it is actually got a green or blue tint. which sucked cause i painted the intercooler on my other car with it to hide the intercooler more and it looked like crap. but with the blue car the blue tint to it makes it look kind of like the lexus blue tinted chrome head/tail housings. still not sure i like it maybe shouldve left the part immediately surrounding the turn bulb chrome but its done now and i like it more than what it was

how do you edit posts on here? or is that something im not privileged too yet?

it took a couple hours. mostly taking off that front bumper. gosh there mustve been 30 clips i had to take out. id say 1 hour to take off the bumper and headlight,1/2 hour to bake and take apart and then painting took an hour or two. putting it back together 20 min then the bumper put back on took 45 mins. soo, 4 hours maybe? but theres dry time and everything. i did it rather leisurely and istarted at noon and ended at noon kind of thing but you could do it in 4 or 5 hours if your carfeful not to touch the paint putting it back together

Nice job-it's a big job! It sounds like your wife is a car person, if she wants angel eyes. But baking and taking them apart twice would be too much for me.
