maddsiick's Progress Thread - Updated Pictures

So i bought my TL when i was 18 years old, great to build credit, bad on my wallet. Not to mention the fact that when i bought this car (brand new on my own) i joined this forum and you guys put a hole in my wallet.

But i have to say thanks to everyone here on acurazine and everyone that helped me with my transformation. Now id like to share some pics. Comments are welcome, keep in mind the timeframe is from 18 yrs old to 22 yrs old and styles changed as i "grew up" please DONT FLAME ME FOR THE UNDERGLOW...ITS NOT THERE ANYMORE!!

Well thats up to this week...starting from when i brought her home...hope you enjoyed the pictures.

Nice work man, the transformation is a job well done. I think AZ affected everyone wallets here from the smallest to the biggest mods.

very very nice progression.... i think you just may have the cleanest fitting accord fogs I've seen.

But you really do need a drop and wheels, to complement everything else .....

Nice work dude...I like the mono-chromatic look of the tails-a very cool look for a Silver TL.

yeah this forum has so many good ideas and very helpful people. most of the problems ive had with my car and with mods were solved by people on this forum, which is y im on here at least once a day, just to see whats new

thanks. cant take all the credit for the fogs though. Xplicit did my fogs for me twice after the first set broke and i decided to go type s grills instead. he took his time as usual to make sure they fit OEM status.

yeah im thinkn of just getting gunmetal aspecs if i can find them for a good price but thats last on my list. and dropping her in NY is pretty hard considering shes my daily driver and i go to downtown manhattan at least 2 times a day. its hard driving on the BQE with a dropped car. its hard enough trying to protect her at the height shes at now

yeah it was alot of work, 4 years of work and constantly doing it over and over again until everything looks perfect. worth it in the end.

Very nice thread---thanks for sharing.
The difference between pre A-Spec front lip and post lip is amazing---changes the whole character of the car.

Looking great man! Your tails are absolutely sick! Have you ever considered debadging the back? Leaving the A emblem and A-Spec of course.

Gunmetal A-Specs FTW Keep looking around man. I was lucky enough to find my set on Craigslist.

car has come out sick over the last 4 years. I think alot of us mod the car to fast and end up getting sick of the car to quickly cause we did to much at one time. Keep up the good work

looks good...

Blaming the road conditions is no excuse for no drop... I drive same roads and it really isn't that serious... Get a drop and you'll get the TL to it's full potential...

What the hell how can you even say that hahahah
it's obviously much easier with air but....

you don't have to drop it aggressively. and it's funny you mention the 278, cause i drive on it all the time.... more so than the drop, im worried about the 35 series tires... and i've chosen to stay away from them from now on, im going 18s, 40 series, lightweight now!

It took me 4 hours by myself to do it, wasnt hard work but it was a task. it cost me about $1000 in parts, saved labor by doing it myself. took about 2 months to find all the parts at good prices though. that is where the time and patience comes in, waiting for that good deal. Martin on ebay hooked me up with the custom wire harness and information on how to install as well as help with troubleshooting. he has the entire conversion kit for $1700 with voice command. but you can negotiate with him, he reasonable and will knock the price down for you if you try. great guy and pleasure to do business with.

Yeah not having a navi for 4 years then just tackling this project last week makes a big difference on how the interior looks now, more luxurious and very useful.

thanks, the tails really show up the back end of the car, i get alot of looks and compliments on them while on the road. i did consider debagging the back but i think im going to take on the project of black chroming the emblems first to see how it looks because im going for that black gray and silver look on my car, so im going to attempt that first and see how it comes out and if its not good then ill probably just debage. i saw some Azine members black chrome or "tint" the emblems and it came out really nice.

i agree..ive seen some guys mod the car within a month or two drastically and now there complaining about seeing and driving thier cars because theres nothing left to do or change. doing it progressively made me enjoy the work i was doin and appreciate the look every step i took and kept me interested in the car. I still have a way to go in mods but im pacing myself.

yeah i always considered doing it, i guess it wasnt that high on the list for me but now that i am running out of things to do on my car, and since my car is finally out of warranty ill probably be considering this now. My warranty expired this week so now its fair game.

even on stock the tl looks good lowered.

everything you've done minus the underglow is right on, car looks great, tails came out nice. props on the navi conversion. more and more people are doing it now. i remember when i was one of the first few that did the conversion in my 04 tl. people thought it was impossible

yeah the gf convinced me that the underglow was to ricey, it was nice when i was 19 and 20 but now im going for the sport/luxury look, which is why the underglow was never put back on after acura managed to damage them when replacing my transmission.

Nice ride bro. After all the progress you made so far, it looks like your headed in the right direction.

Quick Azine lesson...
Postive(+) ride, multiplied by(x) negative(-) bank account, divided by(/) sweat, blood and tears = right direction.

Doing your emblems like that would look sick! I'm sorta doing the same color theme as you; WDP and black. Minus the Gunmetal A-Spec's though

I took ACURA and TL off and left the middle emblem. Then a few weekends ago I took it off and painted it black and it really pulls everything together on my car better. I'm looking forward to seeing them when you get around to getting them done

Nice job bro I am thinking of just adding the a-spec front lip only, does it involve cutting the front bumper or is it just double tape and stick on?

my stock fogs and accord fogs are using 10000k HIDs, my headlights are using 6000k philips ultinon bulbs for visibility, hardly use them though because i have independant stock fogs to save the bulbs.
