I was thinking of getting the 17x8.25 +25 and was hoping they would be ~17-18lbs but looks like they will be closer to 19.5-20lbs....

He may not have to wait too long Matt. I ordered my tires for these rims yesterday and asked Bruce to send me an invoice for 4 new TPMS.

These will only go on as a test fit for some pics though. My summer wheels are on now.

Lol, Thanks. True it is May, but I sold my stock wheels a little while back so I had the money saved in my PayPal account already for these. Plus with all the talk of the gov't trying to charge sales tax on items purchased online I didn't feel like waiting for that to pass and then have to pay sales tax on top of this.

I sold my stock 07-08 rims for $400 (excellent condition), tires for $200, and TPMS for $90. However, since the time I sold all that I have purchased some other things with the money in my PayPal account, so the rims weren't fully paid for, but it was damn close.

well its not about medals....its about satisfaction....If i were going for the lightest TL, I would have removed the aspec kit, roof spoiler and speakers and dozen more items....
I would like to own a set of some reputed (Volk/Wedssport/SSR) light weight rims....slowly but surely, will get there

You're welcome. And both are +20 offset so who knows what the deal is. I just weighed one of each I didn't pull the other 2 out to weigh them as well.
Then again they are only cheap XXR's so I guess the weights aren't going to be exactly precise.

Time for an update. Been a little busy lately with some minor mods.
For the recently purchased 527's I decided to make some custom center caps. The first ones I made were base center caps and some black plasti dip, silver metalizer (borrowed from John 'ebelp' thanks man), and some clear coat.
![](http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i59/Chip1883/null_zps3eab98ea.jpg)
Two coats of black dip were laid down first and then 3 coats of metalizer.
![](http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i59/Chip1883/null_zps2c58febb.jpg)
![](http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i59/Chip1883/null_zpsfec57410.jpg)
After the metalizer was applied, I masked off the A with painters tape to then apply more black.

Finished product

![](http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i59/Chip1883/null_zpsea2edaa8.jpg)
I also worked on a second set of Type-S caps that I was able to pick up at a great price since they weren't in the best shape. For these I decided to body fill the A and then have a layer of black vinyl applied and then a deep sliver A on top. I think these came out fantastic.

![](http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i59/Chip1883/null_zps7a783732.jpg)
The wife also let me order my tires for the winter setup and TPMS for them as well.
The center caps on the tires are the Type-S ones before I worked on them.

Last, but not least I picked up a CAI from a fellow member earlier today and wound up painting and installing it. Pretty simple install. The only thing that may be confusing to people is how to re-route the hoses, but overall it wasn't that bad.

Great updates Chip! Hurry up and get those tires mounted so you can throw on the new wheels for a few days.
Did you notice any difference with the CAI over the intake resonator delete? Sound or performance?

Thanks J, I appreciate that. I kinda feel bad that it is just pics of dumb stuff though. Half the time it's pics of my damn engine bay.
I gotta come through with some better pics....and soon!
Lol, it happens, but in some cases like yours, maybe it's better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission.
My wife is pretty cool with the whole car modding thing in midst of also paying for a wedding and stuff. I try to include her in the modding process instead of just buying stuff at random. I think when she feels a little involved it makes it easier to convince her to let me buy something. For this wheels purchase I already sold my stock rims and some other stuff so I had the money set aside for them, so it made the bigger purchase a bit easier to accomplish.
Thanks Adam! We are having a reception up here on June 7th so after that I'm going to look into getting the tires mounted and balanced.
As far as the CAI, I just installed it yesterday and didn't even drive it, lol.
I only started the car to check for any CEL's and to make sure everything ran/idled fine. I did rev the engine and you can hear the intake sucking air in more so than with the resonator delete and it does have that little fart/queef sound when the rpms drop back down, lol.
I'll be resetting the ECU today and taking the car out for a drive so I'll report back here with my thoughts. But I'm sure whatever I'm feeling will probably be just in my head.

I have the DC Sports intake and it's probably the least expensive CAI for the TL that you can find. I think from searching it before the place that sells it the cheapest is ultrarev.com or click the link. http://www.ultrarev.com/cai5529.html
Here is my review. Driving around normally the car seems to be a tad peppier, but maybe this is just from doing the ECU reset. Also upon light acceleration with windows down and no music on, I can hear a slight whistling type sound which is common among CAI's. It almost reminds me of a tiny little turbo spooling up. So I'll chock that up as a win, lol. You can definitely notice a nice growl when going WOT and it's even more noticeable when in vtech.
Overall I think it's a great intake and would recommend it if you are looking to dress the engine bay up a little bit (like I was basically going for) or if you are looking for a deep growl upon acceleration. I make no claims to this intake adding all kinds of HP, just saying the car feels a bit more responsive, but then as I have stated above, it could just be the ECU reset giving me that feeling.

Thanks Austin. I used the paint left over from the bezels Aaron used to do my tails. I think it compliments the covers nicely. As soon as this reception passes on June 7th, I'm going to get everything mounted up.
