Thanxs.

I definitely want to get the tailight & side markers tinted, but I am still wondering what color to get the headlight kit - smoke or blue tint. I have a Nighthawk Black Pearl car. If anyone with pics of the smoke or blue tinted headlights can post them up that would be grately appreciated.

Do not do a dry install on the tails or the headlights. Wet install is way better for you.

50-50 water and alcohol.

Please check our how-to install online.

I did a wet install with soapy water and it went fine. The headlights were really easy; took ten minutes total to do both. They look awesome!! The tails were a bit more tricky because of the slight convexity in the lens shape. Using a hair dryer while smoothing it out worked beautifully, though.

The only problem I had was I accidentally scratched my paint when I trimmed a slight jagged edge on the film that I didn't notice prior to the install. I'm just waiting for the sidemarkers to arrive and it'll be all done. Then I'll post some pics.

One question: After the tails were all done, I noticed a small (2mm) bubble in the middle of one that I had missed. Is there a way to get rid of that?

I got the decal from norcal meet in the bay area. If you live around the area, I wouldn't mind to find you one.

Xristos

I haven't seen you for a while. What's going on with you man? Why don't you come to one of the norcal meet? We had lots of fun and people are super nice. I ended up getting a house in Pittsburg and should be done by Feb'06. Let me know if you need help installing the tint, I should be able to help you in the weekend.

Work, vacation, work & vacation.... that's what I've been up to; thanxs for asking.
Congrats on ur new home. Is the builder KB or Discovery?

I see you have your tailights smoked, but did u also smoke your headlights? I am goig to get the tailights & side markers in smoke, but I can't decide what color to to do the headlights.... blue or smoke. What do you think looks good on a NBP?

Foot3ch, thanks for the offer. I got one from LacViet. He was kind enough to mail it to me.

Xristos, I installed the blue headlight tint the other day and it looks great. Pics to be posted when I get a chance to wash the car. It's pissing rain right now.

I don't have one on my headlights because I already installed light protection when I did my clear bra last year. The builder is KB home. Hey there will a meet on Sept 19, I usually go with one of the acurazine from Pittsburg. Lemme know if you can make it, that will be fun dood, three member from Pittsburg.

No loss of brightness. Very subtle colour difference. Could be my imagination but it seems like better illumination of the road.

hey mr blocker did you receive my email? was wondering if my film would be ready to ship monday... thanks. Also any insight on cutting it so that it covers turn signals only and not whole headlights?

And thanks for the link! I also found one of the mods cars has rockblocker front turn signals only... trying to figure out how he did it.

You could easily cut it yourself to modify it. Just use a very sharp exacto knife and a metal straight edge to get a good straight line.

how did you get the tailights so perfectly wrapped? Didn't you find that the films were too big? Did you install dry and then trim? I have to re-do mine, luckily i got some "mystery" films that i don't need with my kit, which i can now use on the tails.

As he said, when you are up close you can tell it is a film. Most people think mine are smoked a dark red color until i tell them what it is.

You want to DO a wet install especially for the tails for the wrap around the corner.

Duhh.... sorry I am an idiot, I meant the rear side markers. BTW rockblocker how come I got two medium sized films (half size of headlights maybe) with my kit? All the other films make sense but not those. I don't need them so I thought i would cut them down and re-do my rear side markers as a dry install and try to get it tight and completely covered.

i love this mod....so much....i think all the negatives about it.... are 50/50 with the look because it just makes the car look amazing. i know a lot of people on this forum do stuff on their own, but im just not crafty at all...even when taking my time.....i want to buy them but for 55 bucks and 80% chance that i can mess up....i feel like itll be a waste...is there any place i can take it to have it installed? would someone who tints windows be the best place to bring this..? im not crafty at all....i can barely put stickers on, or put a protective screen over a palm pilot or navigation screen.

I dunno what to tell you, it's easier than it seemed when I started. You can pull it off almost an unlimited amount of time and redo it as long as you keep working with it with the water with a few drops of dish soap in it. As it dries it gets more and more sticky and you will be able to get it on smooth. For me the harder part was trimming off the excess. I suggest you let it dry for at least several hours before attempting to trim it. If you can do that it's not hard!
