I did something special today. Here's a picture of my cut off for my TL.

LOL, i'm just kidding, but it sure looks cool. I was working on my taillights today while I'm still waiting for my headlights harness to come in. Gonna do some custom work on the taillights as well.

One thing is complete though, my switchback side markers are done.

What's the level of difficulty for modifying the tails? I have a set of OEMs, but I'm not sure if I want to try cutting those open, or just buy a cheap used set and experiment with those

I would say 7 out of 10, if you want a clean cut. OEM ones are generally cheap these days. I'd just try them out.

I bought these from a local member here, he claimed there are few burnt LEDs on them. Gonna replace all the LEDs to some brighter ones.

mine burnt out, been wanting to replace it... Bought a pair from a member almost 2 years ago. Claimed it was L+R... Turns out it was two Rs, i needed an L.
considers replacing the LEDs, since its annoying to have no cruise function at night...
what LEDs you thinking of replacing with? And i assume it should be a simple resoldering?

I'm thinking to use CREE LEDs, but let's see. I'm gonna modify the PCBs as well to justify my mods.

simple resoldering? it might not be the case when i took a closer look at them. i might have a new set up anyways.

I lived in Texas most of my childhood. Are you sure you want to ship your headlights to Canada?

If you ever figure out how to wire the Angel eyes up to your DRL's let me know! I may be opening up my headlights again to install some angel eyes and to fix my passenger side S2K projector.

I just did and it worked!! get a 9005 relay harness, hook it up to the battery and plug it in your driver side socket, then get a resistor and plug it in your passenger side socket only and leave it alone. Connect the angel eyes to your relay harness and they should light up as DRL!!

that's just a video of the angel eyes working under DRL. sorry for the bad quality video....iphone 5s was placed 1 foot off the ground, so yes lots of glare aiming to the floor.

angel eyes not lighting up under DRL was bugging me for so long. having them working now give me more motivation.

Love your work OP, keep it up.

I'm wondering about your DRL set up with the harness. Did you not need to use a resistor on the driver's side before the harness then? You mentioned an in-line resistor for passenger side socket but not driver's side. If this is true, then you just solved my LED DRL woes as well!

Keep up the great work man, I usually love the Audi style DRL strips but I personally think it takes away from the general beauty of the the 3G headlight housing. The black chrome is beautiful though.
