L.E.D. custom fogs!

so i randomly decided to do this. took me and a few friends roughly 3 hours from bumper off to bumper on. and alot of headache because theres not much headlight wiring to spare. anyways hope yall enjoy and this gives ppl ideas for future mods.

also my first official DIY

the first is a shot during day with no lights on. you dont even notive the leds! they come on automatically with the headlights

while i admire the effort put into it, it just doesn't look right to me. it looks incomplete imo, like it's not supposed to be there.

but if you like it, rock on! it's your car and your choice!

Also respect the work, but not feelin' the final look.

If it were me and I was looking to do this without nodding the bumper/bumper grill, I'd have done a pattern like...

Frito, not bad (this, coming from a guy with LED headlights). I like this better that just the straight line LED's.

Those LEDs look like the ones that are on the new Mercedes, which is prob where you got the idea, and even on the Mercedes, I think they look like crap. Leave the LEDs to the Audi headlights.

I don't like this statement.

First and foremost, Audi was not the first to have LED lights.

Second of all, its almost like saying whats the point of modding our cars, we're never going to be faster than a Camaro, never going to be faster than a 370z, etc...

Its the act of working on your car that makes everything worth it. Now I don't like it on the grille area, but I have to say the LED lights look nice in the headlights.

Uh...this is a TL, not a freaking Civic. It seems people ruin these nice looking cars with cheap mods. Last time I checked in the photo area someone put a rubber strip from Home Depot across the lower front bumper to imitate a front lip? Seriously though, Audi is the only car who can pull it off (LED running lights) correctly.

Comments like that are completely unnessairy. The OP put alot of work into this mod, and I respect that, im really looking forward to the day someone places LED's there on our cars and find a spot where it looks good. Dont hate on people for trying new things, im sure we can find something about your car that we dont like to.

my friend bought the wrong splices so we had to run to parts store. and it was my first time taking the bumper off. and we saudered (sp) all the joints once on the car. and it was dark. so yes 3 hours.

honestly i kinda like it. it may stay a little while.

I like the LEDs but not in the bumper. They would look sick if they were in the headlights though. I appreciate all the work you did and the only thing that matters is your own opinion. By the way i agree with you on going to college and not having money on buying new things every week like some of these people on here.

dunno how to do that. i have a mustang that i have worked on since i got this. so imports are new.

not to start acting immature or anything but i dont like the straight leds in the headlights. i had seen them and nothing really looks good about them. just straight and boring. since the grills have curves i tried to work with them (as you can tell). i did several set ups before choosing the one above. but i do realize alot of guys wouldnt put them on their cars and honestly im glad. that means i dont go with the flow of common acura mods. im planning a custom black tipped exhaust with my muffler shop. (atlp may be great but too common) i think theres a difference in customizing and modding. i bet yall can tell which one i am. haha

to each his own

I'd buy wheels I love, no matter who else has them.
As far as customizing vs. modding...at some point the stuff you see that everyone has...SOMEONE did it first and nobody else had it. It's hit or miss...you never know...if everyone loved what you did, you'd have a boatload of people doing it too. A pioneer is more like what you are...thinkin outside the box...etc...sometimes you get it right, sometimes not.
I think the LEDS look pretty good, the fact that it's one of your first mods and headlights etc aren't modded and there are no other LED's to make it match might play a role too.

PS...the intake resonator is this big black box attached to where your intake filter is. It's clear to see when you have the bumper off. Take it off...put in a drop in K&N filter and you'll see how nice it sounds. Ironically, I started on mustangs and my next car will probably be one too. The coyote motor is too nice to pass up.

if anything, you should have the bottom section of LEDs stretch farther across than the top. but that being said, i still wouldnt like it. but that doesnt matter. thanks for sharing.

Not much in the way of gains...but if you have a sweet 66 stang...nothing really will make this car feel fast!

About the headlights, I meant doing something with LED in em!

kro- most pointless comment ever?

i wouldnt put lights in my heads. dont really like the straight look.
now if someone did a design from the inner point up to the top then across the top i may be interested. i may have to try this.. and be ready for an acurazine beating haha

yea my stang is pushing 320. headers, dual edelbrock carborator, full dual 2.5" catback back with quad exhaust, perfomance ignition by mallory, all fiber pipes. disk brake conversion. only thing left to do is supercharge. kept peeling out so had to roll the fenders to fit wider tires under her.
